"Real Husbands Of Hollywood" Review - VIDEO

 “The Real Husbands of Hollywood” is described as a fake reality show, but it may be more true to life than some actual reality series.

“We all play ourselves, but an over-exaggerated version of ourselves,” J.B. Smoove told EURweb.com. “It’s a mock reality show, so we take everything that happens in the reality world—we’re just as catty; we’re just as vindictive; we’re—all these different things you see in reality shows.”

The highly anticipated series debuts tonight on BET. It was first introduced to viewers as a skit during the 2011 BET Awards, but then it took on a life of its own.

J.B. Smoove and Kevin Hart co-star in the series alongside Boris Kodjoe, Nick Cannon, Robin Thicke and Duane Martin. Kevin is the only single man in the cast. On the show he’ll be portraying exactly what he is: “freshly divorced.”

According to Kevin, the wives will be a part of the show…sort of.

“We play with the fact that they’re there, but they’re not there,” said Kevin explaining that viewers may catch a glimpse of the back of Mariah Carey’s head or Paula Patton driving off in a car just off-screen.

However, J.B.’s wife’s will not only be seen on the show, she has a speaking role.

“My wife will appear on the show, Shahidah Omar, the songstress of the show, and we have an amazing episode together. We are the most lovely, dovey couple on the show. Everybody else is jealous of what we have. We’re that ‘get a room’ couple,” said J.B. who’s known for his recurring role on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

Kevin explained that the ladies aren’t as prevalent as the men because the show is about the fellas.

“You don’t have a reality show that’s based around men, and the fact that we’re doing a fake on is just that more genius,” Kevin told “Wendy Williams.” I really what this show to be a success so far I'm on the fence it did have some funny moments I just wish it stayed on for an hour because 30 mins is a tease.  Checkout the clip below:
