Ricky Rude - "Friday The 13th" (Ft. AR-AB) - {Video

On the heels of the viral sensation, "Hold Me Down," Ricky Rude has once again teamed up with Philly's most notorious hustler, AR-AB, for the melodic jam, "Friday The 13th," which will be found on Ricky's forthcoming mixtape, "The Unprofessional Professional."  Ricky sprints through the track, proving it's his "season to ball" before AR grabs the mic to close out the track.  AR has long endorsed Ricky for his tenacity and work ethic and can be seen doing so in a viral video that recently hit the web.  A music video is set to accompany the track later this month, the bulk of which was filmed before AR-AB's recent incarceration.

For those who aren't up-to-speed, Ricky Rude is a Southern New Jersey lyricist whose style is as eclectic as his musical influences, which range from The Fugees to Nirvana.  Ricky has spent his adolescence developing a buzz within the industry,  transplanting himself in the inner-city of ComptonCalifornia, where he formed bonds with several West Coast artists.  After years of relentless grinding, Ricky found himself back on the East Coast where he is currently putting the finishing touches on his mixtape, "The Unprofessional Professional."  Ricky's forthcoming album, "No Guts, No Glory," will feature guest appearances from from ScarfaceAR-AB, Liz Rodriguez, and production from Cardiak and Cool & Dre.

Lost Dialect - "Faith In You" - {Official Video}

Here is some visuals from Lost Dialect off the  "Baggage Claim" EP. A classic look at the trials one goes through as they pursue their dreams often ending good relationships. I love when Emcees keep it Real and Not rant a whole bunch of garbage trying to keep up with the mainstream "Clowns".  But did I mention they got skillz too, checkout the video below leave a comment below.

Average Thought - "Robot 24" - {Official Video}

Now this is not for the average the HipHop enthusiast only for the REal HipHop heads, like myself.  Average Thought brings a refreshing taste of HipHop unlike what the mainstream call rap music.  I mean everything from the beat style, dope lyrics, and the high tech budget on this video, this my friend is HipHop at its finest.  I love to see artist express themselves in non traditional way rather than pretend to be someone they are not.

Monday

Tre Isaacs - Deep Thoughts...Shallow Mind" - {Official Video}

Tre Isaacs is a HipHop artist coming out of Long Island, NY. "Deep Thoughts...Shallow Mind" project which consist of 7 dope tracks which will capture your mind.  To be honest when I first heard this track I recognized the beat for Common's song "Blue Sky", I was like this dude got huge stones to spit over this beat. And to my surprise Tre has displayed some Lyrics Of Fury on this project.  Tre takes you back to the Golden Era of HipHop, when rappers told stories with their rhymes to help uplift and educate the community.  I'm really looking forward to see what Tre Isaac has in stored for HipHop.

Sunday

Rav.P - "Indecisive" (MF DOOM BURDOCK ROOT) - {Audio Download}

Displaying indecisive.jpg
Thanks to true fans of HipHip Rav.P won the 2014 UMA Best Video Award.  If you don't know Rav.P is one of the dopest Emcees in the underground scene.  He's probably one of the creative lyricist I've had the experience of listening to in a long time.  But don't take my word for it check him out below and tell us what you think.

Saturday

S.Habib - "Afternoons" LP - {Audio Download}

"A mature, intelligent, meditative album built on a foundation of classic 90s HipHop. The traditionalist tropes are used more as a springboard for personal reflection and nostalgia, as a conduit for S.Habib to examine his past and his place in the modern world as a person and an artist." steadybloggin
Album features additional production by: Bazooka Joe and Prospek with guest appearances by Bigg Pepp, Jon Mercure, Hossanah and D.Wholahaine.

Friday

Lecrae - "FAKIN' " (Ft.Thi'sl) - {Official Video}

I'm not into the "Christian HipHop" scene but I must admit Lecrae is a acceptance to the rule.  For one I feel most Christian HipHop is corny, that's just my opinion, but Lecrae have some serious Bars and his skill is undeniable.  So first and foremost I respect him as an Emcee period it doesn't matter what category "They" labelled him in.  This is one of my favorite joints off the "Gravity" LP

Thursday

Devine Carama - "Dear Beloved (Letter To Rapsody)" - {Audio}

no_child_left_behind_v1
Preparing the release of his No Child Left Behind LPDevine Carama allows us to share a brand new track SClusively to wet listeners tastebuds in the form of “Dear Beloved (Letter To Rapsody)”.
Confessing a love for Jamla emcee Rapsody, Dear Beloved (Letter To Rapsody)” displays an admiration from one emcee to another. Over DJ Well-Blended‘s soulfully potent instrumental, that actually mirrors something Rap’s mentor 9th Wonder would produce, Carama gives respect where respect is due and even compares Rapsody to the legendary MC Lyte – “In a game full of darkness you emcee light/ You’re the reincarnation of MC Lyte.”
Supporting the release with a few lines about Rapsody, Camara admits, “I first heard Rap when I moved to NC a couple years ago. She was a breathe of fresh air. Not just lyrically but content-wise. I know she doesn’t like to be looked at as a “female” MC but rather a rapper period, but you can’t deny the alternate style she brings vs. the “sex symbol” image that dominates most of the “female” MCs today. My daughters love her. I felt it was only right to show respect and love and hopefully turn some more people on to her.

 Kahlil Brandon presents his debut beat tape “Cohiba Daze.” Featuring the theme of a summer day in Havana, Cohiba Daze is the perfect soundtrack for summer anywhere in the world. This 23 yr makes the kind of soulful tunes that takes you on a head bobbing euphoric journey. If I was a Emcee I would definitely look this guy up and even use some of these beats.  Take a listen below.

Tuesday

Pharoahe Monch - "Stand Your Ground" - {Audio Download}

Today, Pharoahe Monch releases a rough version of "Stand Your Ground" in light of the George Zimmerman verdict. Originally intended for his upcoming PTSD LP, Pharoahe chose instead to release the track today and encourage people to "get involved".

Stand Your Ground Lyrics
I am just one man but I know my power
It's the final call were in the final hour
And we must not divide as we march toward our future
Who are they to decide when they conspire to shoot yah,
Ahh, that could've been my mother, ohh, that could’ve been my brother
As sure as we rotate the sun and the earth revolves, get involved 3x
Stand your ground
They'll say I've lost my mind claim that I'm psychotic
He's a fucking traitor he's unpatriotic
But I learned in life truth it must be slated
And I know my rights they're un-alienated Descendent of the blood of slaves
Used to be the one afraid
Until I learned my souls divine amalgamate lets combine unify get in line and
Stand your ground

Monday

Rav.P - "City Of Angels" (Ft.Skyzoo) - {Video}

Rav.P “City Of Angels”, featuring Skyzoo is off the chain, these guys are part of the few next generation Emcees who are bringing lyricism back to HipHop.  Watch out for these two they are about to blow the F#@! up.  Let us know how you feel about the video below.

Sunday

Black Milk - "Scum" (Ft. Guilty Simpson & Sean Price (Random Axe) - {Audio Download}

You are about to listen to the sounds of Black Milk, bringing you that raw and grimmy beats from “Random Axe” off his new upcoming new LP “If There’s A Hell Below”.  This particular joint is featuring two of my favorite Underground Emcees Sean Price & Guilty Simpson.  For the REal HipHop Heads this LP is like a dream come true set to be released October 28th.

Saturday

 Almighty (Canibus/M-Eighty/Cappadonna/Bronze Nazareth/Planet Asia & Nino Graye) return with the second release from their upcoming LP, The 2nd Coming, which was released courtesy of RBC Records.
Link to Almighty's “Immaculate Bosses” featuring Cappadonna, Tragedy Khadafi, Planet Asia, Bronze Nazareth & Canibus goes hard.  This is the antidote HipHop in order to get rid of those "Whack" Emcees

Thursday

Netta - "So Amazing" - {Audio Download}

Netta is new to the Underground HipHop scene coming out of Connecticut.  She's what they call a double threat, Netta can (like a new version of Lauryn Hill) hit you with some dope lyrics and bust out soothing harmonies. Some have even compared her flow to another dope underground Emcee, Rapsody, which says a lot. No pressure...right?
 Her debut single, “So Amazing,” is a reminder of how life was never guaranteed to us, stress-free. This song takes me back to a time when HipHop was simple yet very conscious and aware of what's really important in life.

“Sometimes, it’s the stress that actually reminds us that life is actually so amazing." - Netta.

Wednesday

Dee-1 - "Stupid Fool" - {Official Video}

I first heard about Dee-1 when he first hit the scene, putting Jay-Z, 50 Cents, and Lil Wayne on blast back in 2010 here.  I mean he did it in a way that wasn't a diss track but more of a WAKE THE F**K track where he presented some hardcore questions to "Successful Mainstream" artist.  On this track he's calling out all the ignorant people who do stupid stuff, pretty much holding back the entire race if you asked me. Check out the video below and tell us if you agree with him or not.

Tuesday

Ellis Meade - "Limitless" (Prod Kydro) - {Official Video}

Monday

Yung Rep - "Everything Copacetic" - {Mixtape}

Displaying Yung_Rep_Everything_Copacetic-front-large.jpg
"Everything Copacetic" is Yung Rep's 3rd project which released yesterday. This 15 song project includes great production from the likes of Lexi Banks, MJ Nicols, The Crxsh, Kid Kill along with other great producers. As soon as the intro starts, Yung Rep takes you into his world & shows you the journey of a "Up & Coming" artist from Philadelphia. Song after song Rep battles with not being stereotypical "Street Rapper" showing his fans that he has many layers. He has tried times before for a feature but I didn't think he was ready. I can hear the growth in  his lyrics much different than his first two projects.  This is definitely my favorite, check him out below.

Joey Bada$$ - Norwefian Breakfast" - {Audio Download}

Joey Bada$$ comes strong on “Norwegian Breakfast” – a gutter single with distorted melody from The Smokers Club‘s project OIL:710. The track produced by Bagir hides a gorgeous horn line below the glitchy beauty of bent sine waves and warm chords. Joey Bada$$ stands tall atop the relaxed drum break with a flow that fits the tempo but brings bright lyrics to contrast the cool vibe. This track follows the trend of electric relaxation that typifies the joints compiled for his Summer Knights mixtape. While Joey Bada$$ kills his contribution, the rest of the cast assembled for OIL:710 looks pretty promising. The 13-track project includes tracks from Smoke DZA, Chevy Woods and CJ Fly

Saturday

Diamond D - "Where's The Love" (Ft. Talib Kweli, Elzhi, & Skyzoo) - {Audio Download}

One of the dopest joints off Diamond D’s latest Album entitled “The Diam Piece” , featuring basically an all-star cast Emcees.  Talib Kweli, Elzhi, and Skyzoo did there thing by blessin' the mic teaching the wannabes how it's done.

Friday

Joey Bada$$ - "Christ Conscious" - {Official Video}

This dude has New York on his shoulders right now, I mean if someone was to break out to the mainstream from NY I feel Joey Bada$$ is the chosen one.  For one he actually sounds like he's from NY unlike like some artist I will not mention.  That right there speaks for it self, this new joint Joey is stepping out of his comfort zone and taking it to another level. "Christ Conscious", is the second single off his debut album "B4DA$$" which will be dropping soon. Checkout the video below and tell us what you think.

Thursday

Talib Kwelie - "The Wormhole" - {Audio Download}

This track was produced By OhNo, off of Talib's Kweli's album "Gravitas",  probably one of the few Emcees who tells the truth in his rhymes, never promoting lies.  Talib Kweli is a icon in the Underground HipHop arena, mainstream artist like Jay-Z and underground artist like Immortal Technique respects Talib's lyrical skills.  He's a true Robin"Hood", you will always finding him speaking up for and representing the inner city people.  Twenty years in the game and still going strong, let's continue to support REal HipHip

Wednesday

MF DOOM - "MillionAir" (MikeWr Remix) - {Audio Download}

MF DOOM might not get much love in the US but in the underground UK he's like a Rap God, he's what I call HipHop's version of Jimmy Hendrix.  Always putting out that REal authentic original sounding music, he's not afraid to take chances and do things different. This is HipHop in its purist form.

Tuesday

Millenniium Jazz Music Presents "Locations (Japan)" By The Jazz Jousters - {Audio Download}

Millennium Jazz Music releases their first Locations compilations. This is the Japan edition. The first 'Locations' episode is a brief step away from their tribute albums to explore Jazz styles in other countries and attempt to sample their sound while blending it with their own. If you ask me some of these tracks were tailor made for Emcees, but that's me I hear a little HipHop in every genre.  Even the hardcore Jazz enthusiasts can appreciate this great body of work.

This album is available from our Bandcamp page, all major digital stores and also on 50 limited one time only cassette tapes. See the attachment for the artwork (including the tapes if needed) or the album's page for more information.

Devine Carama - "Believing In Forever" - {Audio Download}

Displaying IMG_6087.JPG
Devine Carama just released the final leak from his upcoming Believing In Forever album. It's a lyrical opus entitled "Priory Of The Rhyme Pocket" which begins where "Keepers Of The Boom Bap" (off my last project The Dream Walker FreEP) left off. This follows my first 2 singles "Satan Radio (66.6 FM)" & "Something More".  Kind of remind me of a young Jay-Z with his voice and fast rapping skills but this dude is the truth not a copycat or Jay wannabe.  Actually he's more like a Jay-Z flow with Talib Kweli conscious lyrics...yup he's that good.

Saturday

Diamond District Releases Sophomore LP "March On Washington" - {Audio Dowload}

When Diamond District dropped In the Ruff on Mello Music Group in 2009, the gritty drums and grimy raps combined as elementally as hydrogen and oxygen. The D.C. Voltron of Oddisee, yU, and X.O. dusted off and revitalized a sound once consigned to the catacombs.

Hailed as an instance classic, its impact reverberated throughout the underground and mainstream. The Washington D.C. City Paper called it the city’s best album in many years. During an era when lyricism was deemed too intellectual and samples too dated,Diamond District overturned conventional logic. They preserved the raw and made it righteous.

A half-decade later, the holy trinity has returned with March On Washington. The truths remain timeless. Wisdom over rhythm. Slang turned into testament. This LP will drop on October 14th.

Friday

Rapsody - "Hard To Choose" (Prod. By 9th Wonder) - {Audio Download}

Rapsody is one of those female Emcees who can put most industry female rappers in a box.  She's a independently thinking woman who refuses to change her style or look to appeal the the corporate machine.  She reminds me of a younger version of Rah Digga with that "around the way girl" sex appeal and she writes her own rhymes.  I truly love when Rapsody and 9th Wonder work together it's like a Chaka Khan and Rufus collaboration.  Let us know how you feel about this joint.

Thursday

The Black Opera Releases Their New Album "The Great Year" - {Audio Download}

Probably one of my favorite underground HipHop groups, The Black Opera have just released a new album called "The Great Year".  This is just more proof that you don't need "mainstream" media endorsement in order to be a successful artist.  Since 80% of the people are still living in "The Matrix" I can understand why they wouldn't appreciate REal artist and REal music when they hear it, they don't know any better.  Let's teach them share this post with a friend...peace.

Wednesday

Big Lean - "Everything's Alright" - {Official Music Video}

Displaying BigLean3.jpg
Big Lean is a 25 yr old Emcee from Toronto, Ca, fortunately for him he doesn't have that "Drake" sound or he wouldn't be featured here....lol okay my bad back to Big Lean.  I must admit I was on the fence with this guy at first but he won us over with his passion and deep lyrics.  There are tons of Emcees rapping about the hood telling there perspective on "Hood Life", but it was a refreshing sound produced by Pro logic.  Make sure you checkout the video below and tell us what you think.
