The True Meaning Of Christmas Courtesy Of Boondocks - {Video}

 Every year I inform people about the Christmas mythology which is based on Pagan Origins. This is an excerpt from one of my favorite cartoons, "The Boondocks".  In this clip Huey goes into to detail about how the Christmas has Pagan origin and what really went down on the 25th of December.  It doesn't go too in-depth but enough to make you wonder....Why the F#@! do most people celebrate it? That's right, "ignorance is bliss...."!!

Kendrick Lamar - “Cartoon & Cereal” - {Throwback}

On Tuesday the 26th of June 2012, what started off as a 15 minute interview slot turned into one of the highlights of 2012 for us over here at SoulCulture HQ (or maybe it was just me, I’ll ask the rest of the team later), as we were invited to document my current favorite rapper, the Compton California hailing HipHop king in the making Kendrick Lamar‘s final show on his sold-out two day stint at The Electric Ballroom in London’s Camden Town.
Not only did we get to speak to the main man about his debut album good kid, m.A.A.d city and lots more, we captured some of his commanding final performance in London and some very special moments. Stay locked for the full episode of A Night With… Kendrick Lamar, but in the meanwhile take a peek at this throwback performance.

V.Nova - "You Died" (Ft. Uncle Murda) - {Audio}

V. Nova ft. Uncle Murda - You Died (Produced by DJ Keal)
V. Nova,s single from his album Hidden in Plain Sight Volume 3 called You Died featuring Uncle Murda, is one of my favorites produced by DJ Keal.  When V. Nova teamed up with Uncle Murda on You Died, an East New York collaboration took place that was long awaited.  This joint is witty and sarcastic calling out all those lames in HipHop.  Checkout single below and tell us what you think.

Wednesday

Apollo Brown & Planet Asia - "Deep In The Casket" - {Official Video}

Today we bring yet another dynamic duo who are very underrated in HipHop.  There collaboration is so sick it reminds  me of Eric B. & Rakim, yeah they are that dope.  With Apollo Brown reppin' Detroit and Planet Asia puttin' Fresno, CA it's amazing to hear how Dope their styles mesh together.  Another example of how REal Rap sounds when it's not controlled by the Corporate Commander

Tuesday

YZ - "In Control Of Things" - {Official Throwback}

I must admit back in the day, YZ was the man and this was the joint right was the s#@!  I know I'm showing my age on this one but hey it is what it is.  This video is both iconic and hilarious at the same damn time, I'm just noticing how bad those actors were.  I mean you have dope lyrics, sick beat and one the most random non-cohesive  videos I've ever seen.  Yet this is a HipHop classic.  Checkout the video below and enjoy..!!

Monday

Pharoahe Monch - "Damage" - {Audio}

Pharoahe Monch, one of my favorite Emcees always drop timeless music.  This joint "Damage" is a oldie but goodie, yet still relevant in today's HipHop.  It appears we are finally coming back around to the "Lyrical Rap" era of HipHop, now the REal Emcees will get a chance to eat again.

Saturday

Da Camp - "Go Hard" - {Official Video}

Da Camp comes thru with a comical video for their Benny Beats produced "Go Hard" off their previous mixtapeVII Day Vacay, shot and edited by Unkleluc. Carolyn Malachi - "Blowing Smoke" - {Official Video}

Carolyn Malachi is one of those singers you'll listen to and say to yourself "Wow, why have I've never heard of her before?".  Well it's simple she's not bucked naked in her videos and she's not singing about ho-ish behaviors.  It's sad that talented artist like Carolyn are not featured on mainstream platforms.  Her talent is beyond the explanation of words but most of the world will never hear her, please checkout the video below and support REal talent.

Tuesday

Mac Miller - "The Star Room" (Ft. Delusional Thomas) - {Video}

Rapper Mac Miller has opened up about the new material he has been working on recently and explained that it will encompass 'every aspect' of the human condition. During an interview with the Rolling Stone, the 'Frick Park Market' star confessed that he wants to represent the reality of this generation on his new album:
"I'm gonna capture every aspect of being a human being... I think that artists and pop culture identities... simplify what it means to be a human and pigeonhole people into looking up to one role model. You're a thug, then you love Chief Keef. You like girls, then you like Drake. You're intelligent, then you like Kendrick Lamar. It ain't that simple. Everyone is just a blend of everybody."

Your Old Droog - "Bangladesh" (Ft. Heems) - {Official Video}

Brooklyn native Droog teams up with Heems on this cultural inspired hit "Bangladesh".  When different ethnicities use HipHop  to express their love for the culture it can be a beautiful thing.  As long as the artist is speaking his or her truth I have no problem with them embracing what we created.  Nowadays HipHop is more than a race it's a culture and a way of life.  Let's keep HipHop authentic by only supporting REal artist not the performers and the fakers.

Friday

ILLClinton - "Feels Good To Be Here" - {Audio}

Displaying photo (3).jpg
At the end of 2013, ILLClinton decided to release a track that did not make their first mixtape, ILLANTA. The Shawty Lo inspired track titled, "Feels Good To Be Here" is just as titled, a feel good track. Brennan rips the soulful and inspiring beat from Blake Belair.  I can't wait until this duo gets its true props in HipHop so talented and a true representation of Real HipHop.

Dee-1 - "Jay, 50, & Weezy" - {Official Video}

After graduating from Louisiana State University with a bachelor’s degree, Dee-1 taught middle school in Baton Rouge by day to help fund his musical dream. After two years of being “Mr. Augustine” by day and “Dee-1″ by night, he finally decided that his passion for HipHop was too strong to ignore. Armed with righteousness, realness, and the strong desire to be relevant, Dee-1 set his sights on becoming the type of rapper his students could be proud of. Sleepless nights being a full-time teacher and part-time rapper were now replaced by sleepless nights being a “full-time dream chaser,” as chronicled in his courageous song, “The Announcement.” from his I Hope They Hear Me Vol 1mixtape.
In March 2011, Dee-1 released the mixtape, “I Hope They Hear Me Vol 2 packed with 18 high energy joints that has already reached thousands. This was a life changing mixtape for Dee-1 as several singles received extensive radio play and regular airplay on MTV Jams. Most notably was his single “Jay, 50, and Weezy,” which created a huge internet buzz that allowed him to take his career and music to the next level.  Dee-1’s latest project, “The Focus Tape,” (hosted by legendary Dj Mannie Fresh) was released on October 9, 2012, Followed by “Psalms of David,” (featuring hit song “Work” ft Lecrae) which was released on February 20th, 2013 have both reached over 100,000 people worldwide each. After the huge announcement of Dee-1 signing a major record deal, he released his latest mixtape, “Psalms of David II” on October 19th, 2013.
You haven’t witnessed Dee-1′s true star power until you have seen him live in concert. He is known for giving jaw-droppingcrowd-surfing performances and electrifying audiences whenever he hits the stage. As Dee-1 says, “It feels way better to actually win over an audience rather than just brag on how good I am. I’d rather prove it to you.

Def Dee - "Numb Again" (Feat. yU & Hassaan Mackey) - {Audio}

Space needle producer Def Dee signed a producer development deal with MMG a few years ago, there was no rush, just a desire to hear what the promising Beatsmith could do with a little time and skill this is what the young phenom came up with.
Def Dee's "Numb Again" (feat. yU & Hassaan Mackey) track off of his LP, 33 an'a third.   The album is a remix compilation with a twist.  Dee took unreleased verses from his MMG brethren, along with some classic verses, and started remixing. Then he called in the spittas to fill in the blanks with entirely new bars.  The results speak for themselves.  Numb Again features an unreleased yU verse that was originally for his group The 1978ers.  After Dee remixed it, he called up the gravel voiced Rochester MC Hassaan Mackey to lay an all new verse down.  Check it out below.
