One of the great things about being a part of UnsungHipHop is I’m blessed to be able to share fresh & exciting new talent with you guys as it hits my radar and today I get to introduce your ears to the sounds of the soulful newcomer that is Angela Ricci.
Following a summer of spent as backing vocalist for a number of internationally recognized acts the likes of Kelis, Rita Ora and The Heavy, the Rome, Italy raised, London residing singer-songwriter takes center stage with her single “So Good”. The song, produced by Aaron Paul, is a rich musical gumbo comprised of Ricci’s diverse influences which include Nina Simone, Ray Charles and Kimbra, giving us a throwback Soul, Jazz, Blues and big band inspired sound.
“Musically, I’ve found that some of the best songs are the least complicated,” she says, of the inspiration behind her offering. “I write about everyday emotions and situations that may sometimes appear to be light and playful, but I aim for them to still hold a deeper message and sentiment.”
