PsynLangwage - "Closed Captions" LP - {Audio}

DaDestroya, Negrosapien and HemmRage were raised in the quiet town of Chateauguay, Quebec. As children, they recorded songs and radio broadcasts amongst themselves for fun on tape cassettes. In the 1990s, the three brothers had a chance encounter with the HipHop legend, Special Ed who coincidentally, also happened to be their uncle (or, 'big cousin' as they call him). This was the start of it all. As youths they were further inspired by acts as unique as Wu-Tang, as eccentric as A Tribe Called Quest and as underground as Necro. It was necessary for them to develop their own method, and later, their own controversial beliefs concerning music in general.

DaDestroya, passed the time writing rap verses during high school classes and insulting local up and coming rappers during lunch hours. He held a fundamental belief as to how music should be made. Few agreed with his opinions and instead chose “imitation instead of innovation”. His adamant refusal to this way of life led to his assembling a group of rebels in his school known as Tha’ Rappture. The group disbanded after conflicts of interest in the other members’ personal lives. But he continued on, along with his fundamentalist HipHop beliefs.

Negrosapien, who at the time wrote poetry in his book of rhymes, joined forces with DaDestroya to continue the struggle. He brought a persona never before seen in Montreal, a demeanor as unique as his personality and a voice as commanding as a dictator. The two formed a formidable alliance, and eventually released 4 EPs (Bereavement, The Death Weapon EP, The Earth Is Flat EP and and The Human Error EP), each of which gained airplay on the local radio stations in their area. The group began to garner more attention locally and otherwise.

HemmRage, who supported his brothers from the beginning, mastered the craft of producing music in private. He too began working alongside the two brothers, which led to a big shift. From that point forward, their group had changed forever. No longer did they depend on anyone other than themselves for support as they did in the beginning. Their music was their own. The beats and especially the lyrics, came entirely from their heart and soul. Calling themselves PsynLangwage was the result of being determined to:

"SPEAK TO YOU IN A DIFFERENT WAY”
PsynLangwage is a REVOLUTION for all music lovers.
It is not rap music, it is not hip-hop music, and it’s definitely not country. This is PsynLangwage.
And their passion? Getting YOU to PSYN UP.

Proper - "Waiting To Excel Pt. 2: Labor Pains LP" - {Audio}

Waiting To Excel Pt. 2: Labor Pains cover art

Waiting to Excel Pt. 2: Labor Pains is the second offering from Proper of Pride & Purpose in the “Excellence” series. It is the semi-autobiographical story of a man staying true to himself while achieving his goals. As kind to everyone in life, Proper navigates his way through proverbial potholes and wrong turns on the road to success, all while maintaining a balance in his relationships with his friends, family, spouse, and most importantly himself.

Proper delves deeper in the theory of chasing dreams as an individual while existing in mainstream society. He follows the path of creating opportunities as a dreamer while enjoying the spoils and experiencing the toils of laboring for Corporate America. A theory he has coined as “Labor vs. Work.” Proper portrays a persona in Corporate America that is matter of fact, succinct, and even keeled. This persona is offered with effort on his part while repressing the attributes he learned growing up in Richmond, CA, a city that preys on the meek in place of prayer during hard times.

While adapting to this commercial environment, and with the support of his other half, Proper maintains his focus on excellence, using his dreams to propel him through reality.

NYPD Allegedly Forces Man To Rap To Avoid Arrest [VIDEO]

Miss. Student Sues Over Religious Assemblies In Schools

Shingles, whose rap moniker is “Sauce Da Boss,” said NYPD Officer David Grieco and Detective Joseph Patton unlawfully entered his cousin’s home and handcuffed him.
Once they learned that he was a rapper, they told him to spit a few “hot” lyrics. If the lyrics were good enough, officers allegedly told Shingles, they wouldn’t take him to jail. But if they didn’t pass muster, they were taking him in.
“$30,000 in pocket that’s loose change. I throw a billion in the sky like Bruce Wayne,” Quinshon Shingles rapped.
Those lyrics set Shingles free, but the experience made him lose his “artistic creativity.”
“I felt like the old days, slavery. Like dance for the master, dance and sing for the master. It just messed me up inside,” Shingles said.
“This is about me being able to tell my story so this won’t happen to another kid. This is outrageous. This is very disrespectful,” Shingles said.
Read more from the NY Daily News:
Shingles and two friends were handcuffed for 90 minutes while cops performed their search, said the suit, which seeks unspecified damages. They apparently wanted to question a visitor to the apartment, but that man was not charged.
Shingles’ cousin Tyriek Fortune was arrested on a previous charge.
Lawyer Wale Mosaku said his client came forward after The News exclusively reported in July that Grieco and six other cops from the 75th Precinct in East New York are under investigation by the Internal Affairs Bureau for a host of allegations — including illegal searches of apartments and stealing jewelry and cash — dating to July 2011.
A source told The News on Tuesday that Grieco and several other cops have been questioned by the IAB and that the investigation is ongoing.
Grieco has also been named in at least 12 lawsuits in federal and state courts alleging civil rights violations, including two filed this month. The city has paid at least $114,000 to settle three of the cases, according to court records.
The NYPD has refused to comment on the lawsuit.

Dez Nado Releases His New Single "KindaDed" - Audio

 photo KindaDedOfficialGraphic1_zpsf80e38f7.jpg
Orlando, Florida Rapper Dez Nado releases the official music video for his latest single “KindaDed”, which was released on iTunes and Amazon.com in September. Riding the buzz from his last single “DoSumn”released March 2013, which features a hook from iconic rapper/producer Kanye West and is arguably Dez’s most successful track to date, “KindaDed” has Dez channeling his inner Jamaican with a hypnotic reggae rhythm mixed with a distinctive hip hop drum loop in the background.

Tapping into his Caribbean roots, Dez says “KindaDed” was influenced by his love for reggae music, and his lifestyle, which he claims is a product of “college years, being young and having fun”. The new song is a track that features production from Rhythm and MgeeZy, who produced fellow Duval rapper and Young Money/Cash Money recording artist T-Rone’s hit “Hello Love” which appeared briefly on BET’s video countdown show 106th & Park. Surprisingly, Dez originally freestyled the song to fill time at a live concert and later decided to record the song after the crowd fell in love with it. “It was just a simple, catchy, party song to a simple reggae rhythm, I had no idea it would turn into something major”, states Dez.

The music video for "KindaDed" was filmed on location at Jacksonville Beach and directed by Dez and St. Augustine-based videographer Rick Frazier. The video features a Weekend at Bernie’s 2 themed storyline that Dez says he came up with; “The video is like a mini movie…it’s definitely the best video I’ve done”. According to Dez, up next is a remix to “KindaDed” that will feature some Duval/Florida heavyweights, and a new track that follows the reggae trend of “KindaDed” featuring Lionheart and Elephant Man. Let us know how you feel about this artist below.

BlackTeen Thrown Out of School For Dressing Up as Jesus

Jesus_teen

You’re allowed to dress up as Satan or one of his henchmen on Halloween, but as a Chicago teen learned the hard way, dressing up as Jesus can get you thrown out of school.
Fox 32 News reports that Marshon Sanders was removed from class for wearing a Jesus costume. His mother, Angenetta Frison, says her son was readmitted after he returned home and changed clothes.
Sanders says he wasn’t trying to be offensive when he dressed up as Jesus, but that Jesus is the light of his life.
I wanted to be Jesus because I just got baptized and so I felt like, why not?” Marshon says of his costume. “He’s the most influential person in my life.”
He says shortly after arriving to class he was called into the dean’s office.
“She tells me that, um, my costume was offensive and I was promoting religion, which I wasn’t at all,” Sanders says.
Since removing Sanders from class, the school has backtracked on its initial decision and admitted that Sanders should not have been thrown out of school: “We initially were concerned that the costume could be offensive to religious sensibilities. Upon further review, we realized the student did not intend to be offensive.”
Frison wonders if the image of a black Jesus is what really got her son removed from school.
“Race is an issue in our country,” she said. “We still struggle with racism. I don’t know if that was a factor, but it may have been. Would a Caucasian student dressed as Jesus have had the same effect?”
