YC The Cynic - "God Complex" - {Official Video}
The Bronx is known for originating this thing that we call HipHop. It's only right for a kid from hip-hop's birthplace to introduce a
unique flavor to the game.
YC
The Cynic is a rapper who has
cut his teeth in New York
City's open mic scene for years. Cultivating a small but
fiercely loyal fan base, YC was able to raise over $5000 for a Kickstarter
campaign to fund his upcoming album with producer Frank
Drake, GNK.
Tuesday
Mélan - "thrifty(so)ul" EP - {Video Snips}
Today we bring you Bronx native Emcee Mélan, who sounds like she could be related to Yassin Bey (Mos Def). Her versatility on the mic seems unlimited, this kind of talent you can't teach. With her latest project she takes us back when HipHop was based on lyrics and forward moving consciousness. Make sure you check her out, I'm sure she will S#@! on your favorite female rapper, hell probably most males to.
Thursday
De La Soul - "Memory of… (US)" (Ft. Estelle, Pete Rock) - {Video}
De La Soul release another dope track for their 2016 album "and the Anonymous Nobody" featuring UK songstress Estelle along with legendary DJ Pete Rock. For over 20 years they have stayed together (with no break-ups) releasing album after album. No other HipHop group can compare to them to their stamina and consistency.
Monday
Blossom - "Black Magic Woman" - {Official Video}
Portland songstress Blossom brings all the vibes in her latest, self-directed, music video for "Black Magic Woman," produced by Mikey Fountaine. It's great to see REal soul music is making a comeback. There is nothing like an artist willing to lay it all out on the line in order to spread their message. Blossom is the perfect representation of what it means to be original.
Sunday
Common - "Black America Again" (Ft. Stevie Wonder) - {Video}
Common has always been one of my top 10 Emcees of all time. This Chicago native for the most part has always kept it street and conscious. No matter how much mainstream success he has gotten in the last few years he has remained grounded and being the voice of the people. Common's latest single is another masterpiece to added to his arsenal of dope rhymes.
Saturday
Oddisee - "The IceBerg" LP - {Audio}
Oddisee has been one of the main reason underground HipHop artist are inspired to stay independent. Without any major label deals he's managed to tour the globe and not have to sell his soul for cash. When you pre-order "The Iceberg", you will get 1 track now (streaming via the free Bandcamp app and also available as a high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more), plus the complete album the moment it's released. Let's keep our favorite artist from working at Walmart, go support REal HipHop.
Friday
Talib Kweli Have Some Words For Kanye West - {Video}
We keep in purely HipHop here for the most part, but there are times when you must speak out against the tyranny. I agree with Jazy-Z, I miss the "Old" Kanye. It's obviously Kanye has something personal going on in his life and I hope it gets it resolved soon. Talib Kweli breaks down the dangers of Kanye giving Donald Trump any recognition.
Thursday
Raekwon - “Don’t Look Any Further” (FREESTYLE) - {Audio}
The last time I heard Raekwon he was killing it on Pusha T‘s “Tick Tock” from The Man With The Iron Fists soundtrack, a project which left mouths watering for some kind of Wu-Tang
reunion. Whilst that prospect remains up in the air, The Chef himself
is preparing for the release of a solo EP this year.
For now though, here’s a three and a half minute freestyle he dropped over Dennis Edwards‘ Motown classic “Don’t Look Any Further,”
which recalls the glory days of East Coast rap whilst clenching lyrical
fists at the new generation of skinny-jeaned rappers.
Wednesday
Ivan Ives - "Higher" (Ft. Aaron Marsh) - {Official Video}
Russian born/bred L.A. resident Ivan Ives presents the self-directed music video for "Higher", the Aaron Marsh-produced new single from his new album Stranger. Ivan Ives originally stepped into the hip hop world in 2007. Rolling Stone named him among the next 40 artists to watch; SPIN called him one of 8 top unsigned artists; and XXL said "don't let his indie rocker persona fool you - this guy can spit."
He's worked with the likes of Cappadonna (Wu-Tang), Tre Hardson (Pharcyde), Percee P & Oh No (Stones Throw), The Cool Kids, Black Milk, O.C. (DITC), Vast Aire (Def Jux), Ceschi (Fake Four Inc), and many more. Having gone to film school, he directs most of his own videos which have racked up over a million streams on YouTube without major distribution. "Aaron and I wrote the song at his studio in Lakeland, Florida," says Ivan. "It's a pretty weird song with alternating off-kilter time signatures, so it was really fun to work on. I wanted the video to reflect the uniqueness of the song, and so we tell a disjointed story about an astronaut lost in space or his own mind." Emɐnuǝl X - "Streams" - {Official Video}
Emɐnuǝl X took a very unique approach when writing his song "Streams". It tells that tale of two different stories based on where you choose to start playing it from. On one end he tries to be a good man to her, and vice versa, but they both know their relationship is weak because it was founded off of lust and no true substance. It's a rare thing to see a rapper right something REal these days, check him out below.
Monday
NATIV3 SOUNDS - "N*ggaz B" - {Official Video}
Coming out of Augusta, Georgia we bring y'all NATIV3 SOUNDS dropping their debut EP "GREAT VALUE." DJ Forte pays homage to a Spike Lee Joint with this Mo'Betta Blues inspired beat track. The two Masters of Ceremonies Qualo Smoke & C.Wills hits us with some razor sharp lyrics in joint right reminding me of the Boom Bap era.
Saturday
Uncle Murda - "Cam'ron Voice" - {Official Video}
I know my fellow conscious community would call this "Murder Music", but I happen to love it. All music isn't meant for everyone I grew up on all forms of rap, Gangsta Rap was one and it didn't make me want to become a criminal. Now back to Uncle Murda, he's one the dopest Hardcore Emcees out now. With a sea full of feminine cross dressing rappers in the game, it's always good to see some REal Emceein'.
Friday
Martial WAL Presents: Hop Cashay - "Redemption" - (Official Video)
You know here @ UnsungHipHop we highly support the conscious rappers. But I can never deny those REal Emcees who spit that street s#%!. I mean those Beanie Sigel/Jadakiss type, Hop Cashay is just that kind of rapper. We support all genre's of HipHop just as long as it's not whack.
Thursday
Rav.P - "Ostracized" - {Official Video}
My man artist/producer, Rav.P aka Passport Rav is expressing his need to find purpose and meaning with his EP "Slave name Todd." This EP was entirely produced by him it's a part of separate 3 part series. The artwork is an original painting by Brianna Renee. The visuals for "Ostracized" is from the project finds Rav in Dubai.

Monday
Airøspace - "Analogues" [Tape: Side A] - {Audio}
This artist name Airøspace was recently brought to my attention and I must say his style is like chaotic genius on wax. He takes us on a dark journey within his own heartache, pain, and anger.
Dope a$$ f$#k!, which pretty much sums up this EP, to me he's like Marshall Mathers mixed with Tech N9ne. The production on this track is top notch to there is nothing like this on mainstream radio. Make sure ya'll check him out.
Sunday
J Cole - "False Prophets [Be Like This]" - {Official Video}
What can I say about J Cole that you don't know already? Well I've watched him grow from a normal rapper touring with Black Star and De La Soul. To a conscious Lyricist trying to change the world with his music.
J Cole has been groomed by the best in the game from Mos Def (Yassin Bey), Talib Kweli, Nas, and even Jay-Z just to name a few. He has personally experienced HipHop's underground and mainstream audiences building up his fan base the old fashion way. In my opinion he is one of the few most rounded Emcees in the game.
Saturday
Little Simz - "Guess Who" (Ft. Josh Arcé, Chuck20 & Tilla) - {Video}
Little Simz one shot video for "Guess Who", featuring her SPACE AGE family Josh Arcé, Chuck 20 and Tilla Arcé, taken from her forth EP AGE 101: DROP 4. This is the second in a series of SHOT 101 visuals, they are not considered videos more like moments in time captured in one take. Similar to what Erykah Badu's "Window Seat" video.
Friday
Isaiah Rashad - "4r Da Squaw" - {Official Video}
Coming out of the T.D.E. squad Isaiah Rashad has been playing his dues for quite some time now. I've been waiting on this solo project for a minute now. Kendrick and the game surely have great team around their artist. Everyone they sign appear to be on that conscious tip which is a dope attribute to have, they have the infrastructure to last the test of time.
Thursday
Nomadic Massive - "Any Sound" - {Official Video}
Nomadic Massive is probably the most talented group of it's size since the Wu-Tang Clan. Anyone of these artist could easily record a solo project. You don't see groups this large anymore, in the US groups are not promoted it's all about the solo artist. Nothing wrong with doing your own thing, but as a group we are stronger and more people can eat and have opportunities. Remember "It takes a villiage..." you know the rest.
Wednesday
Narubi Selah - "Gun Law" (Prod by Jesse West) - {Video}
You want to know where all the dope female artist are? Well don't look any farther, starting with the raptress Narubi Selah you'll find them all underground. See "they" rather have our females half naked and dancing instead of conscious minded. Narubi breaks all stereotypes of female Emcees. How many natural hair, knowledge of self, lyrical female rappers do you know? Exactly.....not enough.
Tuesday
Little Simz - "Dead Body" - {Official Video}
With all of the genres of HipHop, it's ridiculous how the US only focus on one (Trap Auto-tune). Little Simz is definitely making her mark in HipHop with her razor sharp lyrics and charismatic personality she practically running the UK. As you can see she's not trying to imitate any of our mainstream artist like most international rappers do.
Monday
Just Blaze Plays Rhythm Roulette At The Sprite Corner - {Video}
To all my BeatSmith's out there you definitely can appreciate the natural talents of Just Blaze. Being a former beatsmith myself I understand the timing and precision it takes to create professional sounding track. Making beats was just the beginning for me, I've moved on to animated cartoons and other forms of media platforms. Blaze makes it look so easy, it took me all day to do what he did in about 30 mins.
Sunday
SA-ROC - "Gift of The Magi" - {Video}
SA-ROC is one of those artist who is way before their time, the masses will not take note of her craft until well after she has transcended. We have featured her several times over the years and she never gets old always droppin' new enlightening material. This is the kind of artist that only comes around once in our life time.
Saturday
Tone Liv & DJ Priority - "99 Live" - {Official Video}
There is no other genre of HipHop like hardcore that brings joy to my heart. Hardcore HipHop was once a league of extraordinary rappers, you really had to be a lyricist, rhyming about REal sh#@!! Nowadays anyone with a Twitter account and a beat machine consider themselves to be Emcee/Producer. I love when REal rappers flex on these auto-tune Clowns.
Friday
Devine Carama - "Something More" - {Official Video}
I was just thinking how there aren't many songs in HipHop talking about love and relationships. Then I thought of my man Devine Carama and his some "Something More" off his Believing In Forever LP. Now this a dose of REal HipHop, video directed by Lexington, KY's Unsung Hero Media and produced by Sir Flywalker.
Wednesday
Method Man - "The Purple Tape" (Ft. Raekwon & Inspectah Deck) - {Video}
It's always good to see The Gods collaborate showing these young bucks what REal lyrics sound like. Method Man, Raekwon, and Inspectah Deck are some of the most lyrical Emcees on the planet. Despite being a Wu-Tang fan for life I am a supporter of lyrics and great content. Something today's so-called HipHop lacks.
Tuesday
Cozz - "Knock Tha Hustle" Remix (Ft. J. Cole) - {Video}
Thanks to Emcees like J. Cole, I'm now aware of Cozz, in a sport that's full of egos and bravado it's a rare accusation to see young rappers support each other. Be on the look out for more material from Cozz these are the kind of artist we will continue to support on UnsungHipHop.
Monday

Fabz - "Lost" EP - {Official Video}
The Manchester hip hop scene has gone through something of a growth spurt these past couple of years. Emcee's such as Shotty Horroh, D'Lyfa Reilly and Bugzy Malone are just a few of the names that have been injecting the scene with a fresh batch of hip hop goodness.
There's one artist who's been bubbling under the surface for a little while now, and he's ready to explode; that man is Fabz. The 24 year old emcee, who hails from the tough estates of Salford, has been on quite a journey through his short life so far, and his brand new EP Lost aims to tell his story up to this point. Released on the newly-formed Manchester label Room2 Records, the eight track strong project is 23 minutes of straight hip hop gold that takes you on a trip through Fabz's life through his eyes. Each track carries a different subject matter, yet the brilliant lyricism and flow remains, making for an engaging listen. Production credits go to Fabz himself, alongside Kydro (head honcho atRoom2 Records), Pro P and I Man. From the classic sounding sampled beats such as "Ride Or Die", to the trap-like "From Day" and the deeper, darker vibes of "Just Like You", which harks back to his raves-scene roots, Fabz has compiled a truly great body of work, and one of the most important and influential releases to come out of the Manchester hip hop scene in a while.
You can stream Fabz's Lost EP in it's entirety below, and if you're liking what you're hearing you can download it for FREE from here.

Saturday
Common Releases “Kingdom” (Ft.Vince Staples) - {Audio}
One of the most underrated Emcees of all time this Chi-town native did his thing on"Kingdom" featuring Vince Staples off his album "Nobody Smiling". I know most of the world only value success by how many units you sell, but Common might not sell the most units but his conscious HipHop is the most relevant. Never giving into the same mainstream dogma, Common was able to build a successful career without selling out. He's the perfect example of a successful underground Emcee, humble and always giving back the the urban community.
Friday
Will Victory - "Ghost Of Makaveli" - {Audio }
While many artists such as the St.Lunatics (Nelly) , Chingy, J-Kwon, Huey were selling mainstream records pushing St.Louis to the next level, the real Underground Emcees with those REal bars like Will Victory are not getting notice beyond the city limits. So it's up to us make sure we support REal artist.
Thursday
Fab Soares (formally of Midnight Collective) - "Nostalgia" - {Audio}
Fab Soares is a Underground HipHop artist from London, what makes him different from most UK Emcees is his unique lyrical form. Formally a member of the Midnight Collective company Fab decided he needed some room to stretch out his lyrical muscles by starting his own brand called London's Most Blunted. The track below is just a peek into what we can expect from Fab in the future. Check him out below.
Wednesday
Jeary Sylves - "Think You Do" - {Audio}
Where melodies meet poetry and the fine line where art and expression are combined for a bigger picture is what can best describe Jeary Sylves. A soulful and poetic Phoenix based artist, Jeary is the type of musician HipHop needs more of. Today Jeary song, "Think You Do" is off his EP "Abstract Expressionism".
Tuesday
Scolla - "Foxy Brown" - {Audio}
Produced by VA's own Click N Spark with additional production and mastering by VibeHaus collective producers, DrewsThatDude &iRockSays, Scolla goes in on "Foxy Brown" his take of Blaxploitation soundtrack music.
"I always had a love for Pam Grier and her Foxy Brown role. The movie happened to be on one day while I was in the studio and I figured creating an ode to women alike would be only right." - Scolla
Monday
Tito Lopez - "Pound Cake" (Freestyle) - {Audio}
Tito Lopez’s first words tell the story. When he was less than a year old, the Gulfport, Mississippi native was sitting in his high chair and said, “Wild, wild, west,” the chorus of a popular Kool Moe Dee song at the time.
Flabbergasted, his mother declared that one day her son would be a rapper.
Flabbergasted, his mother declared that one day her son would be a rapper.
Fast forward to 2016 and Lopez’s mother’s words have proven prophetic. Tito is one of those artist that come around not too often a truly talented artist, checkout his "Pound Cake" freestyle below.
Sunday
Gone Wallace - "Love Jones" - {Audio Download}
Inspired by the film, Gone Wallace's "Love Jones" discusses the uncertainty involved in budding relationships. With the help of the M.Fasol produced soundscape from the endangered Neo-Soul genre, Gone flexes his lyrical prowess on the closest thing to a ballad that he's made in a long time. Gone Wallace has an old school style mixed with a future sound.
Thursday
Shem Bey - "Earth Wind Fire" - {Audio}
Shem Bey brings a fresh and inspiring sound with his new track "Earth Wind Fire." His flow is relentless as a AK-47 but instead of rhyming Bentleys' and Bi#@!s' he's actually droppin' some knowledge. In a world where most people are concerned about the opinions of others, it's refreshing to listen to joints like this.
Wednesday
The Floacist - "Feel Good" - {Official Video}
It seems like yesterday when Floetry the dynamic duo graced our presents back in 2001. Like most groups they've had there ups and downs. They both released solo projects which kept there names buzzing in the streets. I must admit The Floacist was always my favoirite, I'm glad to see her doing well.
What makes this video so bitter-sweet for me is that she looks great and the music is on point but that's my homeboy from Baltimore in the video with her (he's also a Emcee) playing as her man. I was floored in laughter when I saw this, no real hate but a bit of jealousy...lol. I'm cool he's been one of the dopest Emcees out of B-more for about 15 years now. He has toured the world doing his thing, big-ups to my man Komplex @MrKeepOnMoving, peace.
Tuesday
Hopsin - "No Words" - {Official Video}
It was music like this that made me create this site. Don't get me wrong all forms of music deserves a platform to be showcased. If you like this sort of HipHop, cool but don't shelve the HipHop I love to over saturate the market with this sort of garbage. Oops didn't mean to call it that, (now back to my message) this is one of the reasons Hopsin has been blackballed in the industry. He's been stepping on rappers toe since day one, my kind of Emcee.
Monday
DJ J Hart - "Barzini" (Ft Sean Price, Rim P of Da Villins) - {Video}
I can not say this enough R.I.P. Sean Price, your music will live forever. Even though I know you didn't like the fame or the games that come with HipHop, I wish your name was a household name like Michael's (anyone, pick one). Your natural skills on the Mic are so gritty you were the Rasheed Wallace of HipHop. Oh yeah thanks to those other dudes too, DJ J Hart and Rim P. peace.
Sunday
Action Bronson - "Durag vs Headband" (Ft. Big Body Bes) - {Video}
Glad to see Action Bronson still on his grind, after his beef with Ghostface Killah I was a little concerned for both parties. Yeah he sound similar to Ghost but his style is not like his. No one can imitate The God if you ask me. But back to HipHop, I love it when the underground Emcees are able to have a successful career without any airplay or major corporations.
