Russell Simmons Says "Money Is Not The Key To Happiness" On Vlad TV - {Video}

Probably one of the most controversial moguls of HipHop Russell Simmons debates with DJ Vlad, if money is the key to happiness.  I personally am on the fence with this one, I mean I rather go through life issues being rich that being poor.  I think people just get used to not being rich, and live there lives the best the can.  Hints the term "HoodRich" you feel me?

Monday

ISSUE - "Don't Disturb My Fly" (Ft. Droop E, Ya Boy & Cousin Fik) - {Audio}

While watching a feature about the rapper E-40, I was introduced to his youngest son ISSUE.  Even though this is not a new release it's still as dope one.  Although he's dad probably would never be featured on our site his son has found a new home with is raw lyrics and dope beats.  I might be a little bias since his style reminds me of MF Doom, hints the mask and eerie dope Gothic HipHop beats.

Saturday

Nyce - "Persuasion" (Ft. Gifted) - {Audio}

Born Devaron Davis of Wentzville Mo -multi-talented Artist & Songwriter Nyce is craving an authentic rhythm and sound with HipHop and bass.  Packaging perfection, Nyce coordinated Rap with the likes of smooth jazz and poetic wordplay essentially taking his music to a next level.

Known for his vibrant versatility and sophisticated rhyme style. The artist, also a filmmaker, author and videographer seems to paint a picture with words so cutting edge, it spells an abstract perfection.

Wednesday

Ras Beats - "Wit No pressure" (Ft. Roc Marciano) - {Audio}

Ras Beats has steadily built a killer catalog over the years through crafting grimy slappers with the likes of Masta Ace, Sadat X, and Neek The Exotic. And his rep only grows stronger with tough-as-nails new single “Wit No Pressure,” which features lyrical bruiser, Roc Marciano.

The Denmark-born, New York-residing producer will be showing off his talents behind the boards with some help from the likes of Elzhi, O.C., Masta Ace, Sadat X, Breeze Brewin, and Rasheed Chappell, among others.

Gensu Dean & Planet Asia - "Faces On The Dollar" - {Audio}

 One of the dopest singles from SP1200 producer Gensu Dean & California born Microphone Legend Planet Asia.  This track "Faces On The Dollar" is the lead single off the upconing album "Abrasions" was released on Mello Music Group.
This album which was produced entirely by Gensu Dean on the Jedi tool of choice - the SP1200 - while Planet Asia lays fire: "vibe on my scripture, ride to the pictures I paint, even the deaf, dumb, and blind can entwine with this one."  Abrasions is 17 tracks long and features Grammy Award Winner David Banner, Tragedy Khadafi, and much more. The album artwork was done by the amazing Flux Wonda outta Atlanta and gives a good sense of what Abrasions is all about.

RA The Rugged Man Discuss With Method Man About Being Blackballed - {Video}

123
Long Island HipHop legends Method Man and R.A. The Rugged Man discuss their history together, including the era when R.A. was blackballed from the industry. Today, both emcees are traveling the world performing sold-out shows.  This type of blackballing still goes on til this day and is the reason I created this site.

Unfortunately when you don't "Play Ball" with the status qua of letting the record labels own the masters to all your work and keeping you as a slave, they go out their way to kill your career.  Thanks to the internet we no longer need those outdated outlets in order to share our artwork to the world.

Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def) Takes A Minute To Talk To Culture Capture Champs About Being A Fan Of MF Doom - {Video}

The Culture Capture Champs catch up with Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def) during a break in the studio while recording "The Ecstatic".  Hear how he dissects some of his favorite MF DOOM lyrics and talks about what influences him. You see REal recognizes REal no dissin' or jealousy he is straight giving another Emcee his props.  Only a confident secure Emcee is able to do this, he has no affiliation with MF DOOM just a fan of his music. Yasiin Bey comes from an era of HipHop when you could battle someone lyrically win, lose, or draw give the other rapper pound and still be cool with each other.

Wednesday

Das Racist & Talib Kweli - "The Actual" - {Audio}

It’s new NYC meets old NYC today as stylistic Queens reps Das Racist team up with veteran Brooklyn-bred lyricist Talib Kweli for “The Actual”. Occupying turf somewhere between traditional East Coast boom bap and new wave erraticism (think MF DOOM), Amaze 88‘s instrumental serves as the meeting point for Kool A.D. and Heems‘ off-kilter rhymes with Kweli’s masterful delivery.

De La Soul - "Pain" (Ft. Snoop Dogg) - {Audio}

When I say "Nothing stops true talent", De La Soul is the one of the groups that defines this statement.  See when you write your own lyrics, make your own beats, and you own the label, well you can pretty much do what you want.  And I'm not talking about anything whack either, they still have dope bars over dope ass beats period.  They have truly lasted the test of time with their old hits and still releasing new music that sells.
