R.A. The Rugged Man - "Learn Truth" (Ft. Talib Kweli) - {Audio}

R.A. The Rugged Man's "Legends Never Die" with the "Learn Truth"single, is the first ever collaboration between him and his former lengendary Rawkus labelmate Talib Kweli.  This LP never gets old to me REal HipHop never gets old. One day the world will look back at these archives and realize how much they missed out on, just like Picasso.

Wednesday

Uptown XO - Everyday (Ft. AB The Pro) - {Official Video}

Uptown XO has teamed up with the Creative Junkfood team to create his newest visual piece - an animated video for the standout track "Everyday" (produced by and featuring AB The Pro). One of the most creative HipHop videos I've seen in awhile I hope you guys enjoy it as well.
"Did it when they thought that we couldn't / Look how we fought for the puddin' / for the cosby bills..."

Sunday

Dame P. - "Dunwoody Diaries" {Prod by Slim P) - {Audio}

Dame P. releases a new dope single just before the holidays entitled, ' Dunwoody Diaries'. Be on the look out for his new project "The Only EP".  A little different from what we are used to featuring but we embrace all genres of HipHop.

Thursday

ILLClinton - "Oh Foreal" - {Audio}

Atlanta HipHop duo, ILLClinton, releases a new cut from their upcoming 2016 project, ILLClinton Era. The hard-hitting effort, entitled "Oh Foreal" is a perfect introduction to the highly dynamic duo. With Blake Belair behind the jazzy, 808-driven production and Brennan rocking the mic with a lyrical prowess unmatched to most, this is a very good listen. HipHop in the south is alive and well.

Wednesday

J.Nolan - "In The Stars" (Prod. Tuelv) - {Audio}

HipHop producer Tuelv out of Warsaw, Poland teams up again J.Nolan a Connecticut native Emcee. "In The Stars" also features musician Eric Thomas on saxophone.  There are not too many HipHop songs today that focuses on giving a positive message, so much respect goes out to the few that do.

Monday

Savier - "Plan The Escape" - {Official Video}

This week Savier offers up dark and dreary backdrop to his heavy raps in "Plan The Escape". Premiered and partnered with an interview first on These Days with the help of Escape Tracks.

Sunday

Wax & EOM - "Coins" - {Official Video}

Wax is probably one of the most "slepted" on Emcees who for the most part spits nothing but Hot Fire.  Along with his partner EOM they are practically unstoppable.  In the underground these guys are at the top of their game.  This is still one of my favorite joints that I still bump in the truck today.

Saturday

StoneyBertz x eLiMenCe - "Say Anything" EP - {Audio}

Up and coming Producer/Beatmaker and sometimes Emcee eLiMenCe has just released a collab project with Colorado's Best Hip Hop Artist” award winner, StoneyBertz. “Say Anything” is a professional album, not a mixtape, but an official project.  The album was inspired by the cult classic movie "Say Anything" released in 1989 starring John Cusack.  It appears that the Boom Bap / Golden Era of HipHop is alive and well in the streets of Colorado.

Friday

Beneficence - "When The Sun Comes" (Ft. Masta Ace) - {Audio}

After dropping subterranean classics with Sidewalk Science and Concrete Soul, Brick City veteran Beneficence is back with a new album, Basement Chemistry which is set to drop on Jan. 29th via Ill Adrenaline Records.
Armed with the true sounds of the golden era, Benef drops rejuvenated flows and shares mics with HipHop's elite lyricists on Basement Chemistry, including Inspectah Deck, Masta Ace, MC Eiht, El Da Sensei, AG, Dres of Black Sheep and Chubb Rock and many more.

Once again the Artifacts affiliate traps the listener into slick, thought provoking rhymes backed by hard hitting yet soulful production from DJ Spinna, Da Beatminerz, Jazz Spastiks, Confidence and L'Orange.
The album's formula stays true to the game, official BoomBap, with obscure samples and intricate cuts; which the album's second leak, "When The Sun Comes" featuring Masta Ace proves it.

Wednesday

Recluse Crew - "Embrace" (Ft. Dispute One) - {Audio}

Recluse Crew' is a music production collective: Staffro, BennyBen BeatsJake the Break & Flam.  DisputeOne (Formerly known as Extreme) has been a part of the ever growing HipHop culture in Minnesota. Now the 2 teams have joined forces for a head-nodding, Golden-Era cypher like no other.

Tuesday

Little Simz - “Quest Luv” (Ft. Tilla) - {Audio}

Following on from the lyrical onslaught on steroids that was “Bars Simzson”, the 20 yr old North London rapper/musician Little Simz shifts gears drastically delivers a soulful and vibrant tale of love.  This tune from Simz confirms that artist are born not created and pain is the #1 source of great material.

Sometimes, things change for the best. “Quest Luv” was the easiest song for me to write on the E.D.G.E EP, because of it’s personal nature which allowed me to delve into a more vulnerable side of myself, drawing out the substance and content.
OTG brought the right vibe, Tilla brought the right emotion to the record, which is why it works so well.Little Simz

Monday

Doc Obvious - "Quesito Funk (Prod. by Cove) - {Audio}

In anticipation of his album, "Attention to Detail", droppin' January 16th, Doc Obvious of Prime Example hits you with some raw, Boom Bap style flows on his new single Questio Funk.  Produced by Cove of EVC/Voltron III.

Sunday

Derrick Duncan - "Taylor's Song / One" - {Audio}

Derrick Duncan is one of the few Emcees who relay on their bars instead of using gimmicks.  Derrick is smart enough to know that his lyrics will last the test of time, not those over saturated autotune one hit wonders.  Make sure you check out his page and support Real HipHop.

Friday

Mickey Ba$tard - "The Struggle" - {Audio}

 Twenty-one year old HipHop artist Mickey Ba$tard is definitely making a statement spittin' over Kendrick Lamar's The Heart instrumental and I'm not gonna lie it goes H.A.M.  I was really impress with the South Central LA rappers passion and the content of his lyrics are on point.  If we support more artist like him,  mainstream HipHop wouldn't be the Garbage it is today.

Thursday

Martin $ky - "Self" - {Video}

Martin $ky has been doing his thing in the Underground HipHop scene for a minute now.  Just like those fanatics follow college players all the way to the pros, I am the same way with dope Emcees.  I've been waiting for the day when Martin will be a household name hoping he don't change too much and stay focused of beind different.  So far he has been on a path for greatness.

Wednesday

Mélan - "G.Y.F.S" - {Audio.

Mélan hailing all the way from the Bronx, NY presents a raw introduction of herself on one of her influences, Queen Latifah’s "U.N.I.T.Y" beat, creating the acronym "M.I.L.L¡Y" meaning Music Is Literally Living in You. With the massive search for free downloadable beats, she expresses her story and experience through a 90’s flow on various of genres.

Tuesday

Erick Sermon - "Clutch" (Ft. Method Man & Redman) - {Official Video}

These guys don't need an introduction, but here you go Erick Sermon, Method Man and Redman are three of the Golden Era's dopest Emcees.  Maybe I'm a bet bias but I am a fan of lyrics and word play which is a lost art form in today's sub-genre of HipHop.

Saturday

Murkdaddyflex - Second Compilation - {Audio}

I stumbled upon Murkdaddyflex a couple years ago while looking for some new instrumentals. So for the low price of FREE.99 you can spit over some of the most professionally put together beats.  Murk gets very creative with the use of smooth jazz undertones that reminds me of the Neptunes.  Or if you're like me,  someone who enjoys dope HipHop instrumentals, then this is the Cd for you.

Friday

Super Helpful - "Lawns" (Ft. Joey Bada$$, Kirk Knight & CJ Fly) - {Audio}

undefined
Lee Bannon, Chuck Strangers and Kwame3000 who make up the group Super Helpful hooks up with Joey Bada$$, Kirk Knight and CJ Fly. Now you know this Sh#@! is seriously Dope to the Tenth Power..!!  When you are as talented as these guys are you don't have to try too hard.  This sounds like a cypher they recorded playing around, real skills are being displayed here take notes rookies....!!

Thursday

Slum Village - "Decadence" (Ft. T3, Young RJ & Guilty Simpspn) - {Official Video}

undefined
 One of my favorite joints by Slum Village off their “Dirty Slums 2Mixtape from SV and Mick Boogie.  This is another classic featuring artist such as T3, Young RJ & Guilty Simpspn just to name a few. Now this is HipHop in its purest form.  You see boys and girls REAL Emcees always last the test of time. I love when veteran Emcees  show us time after time what lyrical skills mean.

Wednesday

F.Y.I. - "One Thang" - {Official Video}

F.Y.I. releases a video for the Blaptastic track, "One Thang" featured on his new project Age/Sex/Location.  The video is shows F.Y.I.'s acting chops as he plays various characters from a hood cult classic like Belly or one of the '90s all-time greatest sitcoms Fresh Prince.  Only one word can describe this video - entertaining! Make sure to support dope shxt and download F.Y.I.'s latest music at www.fyipsalms.com

Monday

Kensee - "So Me" - {Official Video}

Around the turn of the century, Kensee (based in Linz/Austria) made his first experiences with producing Beats. In 2005, he started to devote himself to it more passionately. After several solo tracks, productions for polish artists and participations in numerous remix contests, the time had come to make larger projects.
Kensee his also done shows performing as just a DJ. After 2012 appeared "Twenty Track Therapy" and in 2014 with London-based rapper Cobane, published "Target Reached", the new solo album "Mind Sex" which drops January 2016. Since Kensee is also active as a filmmaker, he also takes on the role of the Creative Director for his upcoming album in which he plans to release at least seven music videos.

Horseshoe Gang - "Poverty Slogans" - {Audio}

Los Angeles group Horseshoe Gang, the younger brothers of Kxng Crooked (aka Crooked I), are set to release their new album "Anti Trap Music" in early Spring 2016 on Seven 13 Music & Entertainment.

With a host of previous EP's, mixtapes and albums under their belt. the four Emcees have been prolific over the past 6 years with additional launches such as their Horseshoe Weekly series and C.O.B. cyphers. As part of the Southwest Kings Tour, they hit the road with their elder brother and Rittz earlier this year, following up with the release of their "Knockin on Rap's Door" EP.  Most recently they hit the headlines for taking up Funk Volume's $500,000 rap battle challenge with their track "Half a Meal" produced by DJ Khalil.

They'll be appearing at the SXSW Festival in March next year
 "Poverty Slogans" is the first single taken from their new album now on iTunes produced by Denmark's Jonathan Elkaer & DJ E.D.D.E.H.

Friday

JOE Thomas - "Hello" (Tribute to Adele) - {Video}

When I first heard this song by Adele I was blown away by her vocals.  But when JOE decided to cover this song I was truly floored by his version.  Just when you thought the song couldn't sound more surreal, JOE takes it to the next level by bringing a more grittier tone to the popular single and his version has more soul and charisma.

Thursday

Torae - "Non Cypher" - {Audio}

 Torae's "Non Cypher", is letting world know what time it is .  This a dope piece of lyrical content.  He's one of my Emcees to say the least, don't forget to support your local artist.

Monday

Apollo The Great - "5AM Eastern Time" - {Video}

 While on the west coast, Apollo did remix to Drake's "5AM in Toronto". After a few listens Apollo decided to take the people to the Eastern Time zone where at 5AM it’s colder then other places. Normally I don't like when Emcees do joints like this but Apollo The Great is one of those few exceptions.

Saturday

Reppatwa - "August 19th" (Prod. Motel Eola) - {Audio}

An 18 yr old HipHop artist from the UK, by the name of Reps Reppatwa is makin' his mark in the arena we call HipHop. His style ranges from 90's Boom Bap, some Hardcore, with a twist of the smooth Jazz stuff.  He's debut album is a Free download, "In The Name Of Rep".  He also released another free EP, entitled ''Reppalations 21:2’’. This is the intro track taken from the EP, produced by Massology.  Checkout his single below and tell us what you think.

Friday

Gone Wallacehas - "Real" - {Audio}

Gone Wallacehas has a old school style mixed with a future sound. His distinguished sound has earned him comparisons to the styles of Childish Gambino, Curren$y, and Ab-Soul. With his use of soulful samples and fan boy rhetoric, Gone discusses current world issues and future dreams. Gone Wallace takes listeners back to HipHop's "Golden Era" with his 90's style of rap.  Real is the first single from Gone's untitled debut album, it has a nostalgia-inducing resurgence of the Boom Bap. With a smooth, vintage soundscape provided by CMR Beatz. This is also the first official track from Gone Wallace since his short-lived hiatus. Checkout him out below, support REal HipHop.

Wednesday

3oNe3 - "Guide Me Home" - {Video}

http://stateinthereal.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/223075_10151244849810039_1502850472_n.jpg
Here is 3oNe3 visuals to "Guide Me Home", off their mixtape Entourage, and even though it's a little "Drake'ish" for my taste, I decided to post it because like the concept of this single. 3oNe3 call themselves a Hip-Pop group, coming out of The University of Missouri with main vocalist Flexy and female Bitsy who makes a appearance in this song but not all of their projects. Flexy does pretty much all the music you hear from the recording to the engineering.  So in other words he's a younger version of myself, but better looking...lol.  Flexy and I have had a brief conversation and he knows I'm a Hardcore HipHop fan.  So I must admit I don't post all the things this talented Emcee sends me but I do love his drive and dedication to being himself in his music.  Checkout the video below and then click one of the links below to hear some of his other stuff.  Let us know what you think.

Tuesday

Ghostface Killah & Adrian Younge - "Rise Of The Ghostface") - {Video}

Probably one of hardest workers in HipHop, Ghostface Killah has always been one of my top ten Emcees.  I just had to share this joint off of his album "Twelve Reasons To Die".  Too many veterans in the game don't stay true to themselves in a attempt to be relevant. Most rappers lose their way trying to keep up with the younglings of mainstream HipHop.  Not Ghost, he always keeps it REal straight up and down.

Monday

Hemi "Who Dat?!" (Prod Kato & C-Lance) - {Video}

Hemi, one half of ATLien Workshop, just released a music video for his single titled “Who Dat?!” off of his first solo project, “MotorMouth Mixtape Volume 1”. This video takes me back to a time when you needed Bars....to even be recognized as a Emcee.
I'm glad to see we are getting back to the lyrics with the new generation.

Saturday

GQ - “Last Breath” (Produced by 9th Wonder) - {Audio}

http://www.jayforce.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/artworks-000047512424-rdlacy-t500x500.jpg
They say it’s different across the bridge, and there is something definitely different about GQ.  In the words of 9th Wonder, simply put, “he’s a star”. GQ, who Grammy Award winning producer, 9th Wonder, coins his “secret weapon” is not only a former NCAA basketball champion, but in fact Oakland’s next HipHop hero.

Born and raised in Oakland, California, GQ (also known as Quentin Thomas) found his passion for music at an early age; nine to be exact.  Influenced by a wide array of music genres and artist, the young GQ became a fan of lyrics and started to pen his first rhymes; all while training to be a college hoops star.  In 2004 he was recruited by Roy Williams to play for the University of North Carolina’s storied basketball program; and was a member of the 2005 National Championship team his freshman year.  Some years later, and already a champion of one passion, he was well on his way to being a champion of his other - rhyming.

GQ signed with 9th Wonder in 2009, one of the last artists to join the budding Jamla roster, which has grown to be one of the most buzzed about indie labels today.  Of the multi-talented emcee, 9th Wonder says, “he isn’t a basketball player that can rhyme; he is a rapper that can ball.” His style is passionate, controlled, lyrical and he is a master of telling the gritty, dark tales of the place we know as “OakTown”.

In 2010, GQ was featured on EA Sports’ NBA Live 10 video game, alongside Mississippi’s own, David Banner.  The following year, the Oakland emcee released a few singles, and a three-part mixtape series, entitled “Blended”, before unleashing his first project under the Jamla imprint “Trouble Man.

Weche - "Someone Else's Lover" - {Audio}

Baltimore’s own Weche releases this smooth track “Someone Else’s Lover.” Backed by production from Samo, Weche takes his playa flow and spits some smooth rhymes about having an affair with another man's woman.  This is reality I'm sure we all  had apart in a situation that wasn't morally right.  Check out Weche below and tell us what you think.

Monday

Kimberly Anne - “Wasteland” (Live) - {Video}

Kimberly Anne took the world by storm with her personal poetic lyrics and endearing vulnerability wrapped up in her hypnotic vocals.  This South London native singer/songwriter  delivers a heartfelt acoustic performance of “Wasteland” from her new four-track EP, Hard As Hello.
I’ve always been taken back by artists that are so honest in their work and are brave enough to be truly vulnerable. I am inspired by the emotive story-telling sensibilities of artist Billie Holiday, Tracy Chapman and Lauryn Hill.” - Kimberly Anne

Saturday

FowL & Tay Rhodes - "7th Letter G" - "Audio"

FowL recently linked up with fellow Michigan native Tay Rhodes in East Lansing to record this track and you can tell a competitive spirit was in the air because both artists brought the heat on "7th Letter G". These guys need to look to make a entire album because this joint is off the hook.  Check them out below.

Thursday

Stephen Marley - "Rock Stone" (Ft. Capleton & Sizzla) - {Video}

Neither of these Legends needs a introduction if you are a REal fan of HipHop and a fan of Reggae music you already know it is the origin of HipHop.  I just wish more masters of Black music would do collaborations like this, which will be a classic.

Tuesday

Siobhan Heard - "Love Bap" (Ft. Samatha Purple) - {Video}

Texas native singer and songwriter, Siobhan Heard, began singing in her father’s church at 12 years old.  Ever since then she has embodied her love of music by attending Santa Monica and Occidental College through adulthood.  You can hear Siobhan's Classical & Jazz training, in every track on her debut Cd.

Siobhan’s introduction to the creative mecca of Leimert Park was the watershed experience that catalyzed relationships with collaborators for her debut project, Love In All Aspects (LIAA).   LIAA is basically Siobhan's life story told with a Classical, Jazzy, and HipHop undertone featuring her beautiful sultry vocals.

Friday

Elaine "Lil Bit" Shepherd Featured In "Do The Dew" By Rushden & Diamonds - {Video}

She has the kind of voice that could captivate any audience.  Watch her live performance below you will see what I mean.

Here is a little bonus video featuring Elaine "Lil Bit" Shepherd by these Bestie Boys style Canadian rap group Called Rushden & Diamonds.  For some reason I really like this song even though it's a bit corny.  Its a cool fun loving groovy song with a catchy hook. Check it out below you will see what I'm saying.

Tuesday

Derrick Duncan - "As The World Turns" (Part 1) - {Audio}

Georgia native Derrick Duncan delivers a very smoothed out Boom Bap track called "As the World Turns Part 1".   This jazz influenced LP will take you back during a time when HipHop was truly an artform. From the sound of this first CD I can't wait until he drops Part 2, until then enjoy.

Monday

Out Da Box Media Chops It Up With Willie Evans Jr. - {Video}

UnsungHipHop is proud to bring you a classic interview done by Out Da Box Media along with an exclusive bonus track from High Water Music artist Willie Evans Jr.  Playing off of the theme of his debut album "Introducin".

He took the time to speak to us about his musical journey, coming from Jacksonville, Florida with his former crew Asamov,  and joining up with Sucio at High Water Music. He also spoke on his "Billy Lotion" instrumental project inspired by Aloe Blacc and his passion for choppin' music video.

Chances are you may have already heard of Willie but didn't yet get to hear his story and what he brings to the table. This brotha has some interesting things to offer as far as his creativity. Definitely, not your typical Emcee/Producer.  Probably one of the best to do both worlds next to Kanye West but not as famous, REal talk.

Sunday

Aloe Black - "The Man" - {Official Video}

Aloe Blacc is one of the few black R&B singers on the mainstream circuit.  After listening to his voice it's very apparent why he is supported worldwide.  If you haven't heard of him before please go out and support this brotha he is surely the truth.  No autotune or any voice assistance used which is rare for singers of today.
