Following large amounts of speculation Jamie Foxx has finally confirmed that he will play the electrically gifted villain Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Speaking to ET, Jamie revealed a little on the upcoming film’s portrayal of one of
Spidey’s oldest enemies: “I think Electro will be an exciting character
to play because he’s a genius electrician-type person, and he gets the
short end of the stick from the whole world, the next thing you know he
turns it on.”
Also confirmed for the film is Dane DeHaan, star of the sleeper-hit Chronicle,
likely the best film of this year that you haven’t seen. DeHaan will
play Harry Osborn, Peter Parker’s best friend in the comics, a role
played by James Franco in the Sam Raimi trilogy.
Marc Webb, director of the original Amazing Spider-Man,
will be returning, which might not be a shock given that the film made
over $750 million at the box office earlier this year and was well
received by critics.
Though I thought it was too soon for a reboot until I watched the
original, I’m looking forward to seeing where the series goes with it’s
second instalment. The Amazing Spider-Man will make its way into cinemas on April 18, 2014.
not that familiar with that character...
