Spectac & DJ Shakim New LP "For The People " - AUDIO


 Over the years Spectac has gotten heavy media attention because of his involvement in both HipHop and education. The former school principal has been able to chart billboard while obtaining accolades such as ‘Principal of the Year’ which is probably still a phenomenon in the history of HipHop. His sophomore release titled Spectac Returns garnered much anticipation with features from 9th Wonder, Big Daddy Kane and a host of other artists. From feature interviews on NPR (National Public Radio), HipHopDX as well as countless show performances at music venues around the country the heads know and respect his art. Many know Spectac for his prowess as a freestyle emcee and others for his work as an educator. Regardless of how or what brought this charismatic character to your attention, all can agree that it’s the music that keeps us looking forward to his return and he’s done just that.

DJ Shakim received his first big break in 2000 when music mogul Jermaine Dupri offered Shakim a position to fill in as Da Brats‘ tour DJ. Within 72 hours Shakim found himself in Europe performing for more than 50,000 people. After a very successful run with Da Brat, opportunity came knocking again and Shakim became the personal DJ for Bow Wow. Working with Bow Wow afforded Shakim the chance to travel the world, rocking crowds in Amsterdam, West Berlin, Germany, Tokyo and London. After a great 7 year run with Bow Wow, Shakim returned to Atlanta where he quickly became one of the most recognizable DJ’s in the country, being tapped to spin at all of the top events in the country; the Essence festival, NBA All-Star weekend, as well as the Superbowl.

Currently, DJ Shakim has performed at parties for Jermaine Dupri, Sean “P-Diddy” Combs, Mary J. Blige and R. Kelly to name a few. Shakim is also the exclusive DJ for Bell Biv Devoe and New Edition and continues to tour the country extensively. Not only is Shakim a top notch DJ but he is also a sort after music producer crafting tracks for artists such as: Fundisha, Senor Kaos, Ozy Reigns, Mojo Swagger, Q da Kid, Murda Mook and Spectac. After 26 years of DJing, the best is still yet to come for DJ Shakim. The impact DJ Shakim has had and will continue to have on the world of HipHop, and music in general, is immeasurable.  Sorry to be some long winded but I had to make sure you the the seriousness of the existence of REal HipHop.
