Stryfe & Marc Byrd - "Organ Donor" (Ft.Miz Korona & Skorpion) - {Official Video}

http://f0.bcbits.com/z/41/57/415728589-1.jpg
 Stryfe and Marc Byrd let loose the visuals for "Organ Donor", featuring Miz Korona & Skorpion from their album The Last Resorts. HipHop needs more Emcees, more tracks like this in the game.  Over the last few years most rappers have been coming out with some soft BS, let's take HipHop back to it's hardcore roots.

SkyBlew - "The Grey Balloons" - {Official Video}

It's not too often we feature young Emcees, because quite frankly most of them are misguided.   But this young man right here gives us hope that REal HipHop is not dead.  SkyBlew started paying his dues at a early age coming out of North Carolina.  "The Grey Balloons", produced by Backdraft, is a storytelling masterpiece dope beat and heartfelt lyrics.  SkyBlew dug deep into to his bag of rhymes to produce this sick track, I'm telling you this dude has a old soul within him.  Shout out to Benjamin D. Sutherland who produced and animated this joint.

Protoje - "Who Knows (Ft. Chronixx) - {Official Video}

I just had to shine some light on the country that is the true birth place of HipHop thanks to the legendary DJ Kool Herc.  My man Protoje does his thing with his single "Who Knows" featuring Chronixx. To give a little history back in 2010, you know what I'll let Protoje tell the story in his own words. "Chronixx and myself, from the first day we met, have talked about doing music together when the time was right. The stars have now aligned."  Because we don't want to forget our roots we will be featuring at least one Reggae artist every week.

The Four Owls - "Silent Flight" - {Official Video}

The Four Owls dropped "Silent Flight" at the top of the year it was the first single off their new album"Natural Order". Producer Leaf Dog did this thing with a little help from DJ Premier and features from Dirty Dike, Jam Baxter, Smellington Piff & DJ and Sammy B-Side. There was a question online the other day, "Are UK Rappers Better Lyricist?".  My answer is no, remember HipHop started in New York back in the 70's since then our mainstream HipHop has been corrupted by big corporations.  So in other words it's like the UK artist are going through their 90's Era/Golden Age oF HipHop and their culture have not been contaminated by the corporate execs, yet.  Not all US artist are caught in The Matrix we still have artist like CommonKendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$, Lupe Fiasco and J. Cole holding down REal HipHop in the mainstream.

R.A. The Rugged Man - "The Peoples Champ" - {Audio}

 Right after he announce his new Legends Never Die LP, R.A. released this joint “The People’s Champ” which is produced by Apathy. This is not for the weak at heart if you want non complex, dumb down, and make believe lyrics turn the radio to your favorite rap station.  It still amazes me how gems like this go undetected of the mainstream circuit so I'm bring it back again. This ladies and gentlemen is HipHop in its purist form...Welcome To The Revolution...

Last American B-Boy - "KRS-One" - {Video}

http://freshnewsbysteph.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/the-last-american.jpg
 A little blast from the Last American B-Boy, "KRS-One" off his Nickel Bag project.  Now this is what I call a Return Of The Boom Bap joint.  My man B-Boy breaks down the industry of today and questions the Emcees who dressed like women.  He even questions one of the greatest who's ever touched the Mic. He's basically asking the same question most Real HipHop fans are asking,  Where did HipHop go wrong? I know I want to know so sit back, class is in session.  This goes out to my man Cornell Dews, who's main job is teaching our youth, we need more black men like him.  Peace bruh...

Sa-Roc - "Between Friends" (The Legend Of Black Moses Mixtape) - {Audio}

Just like Kendrick Lamar was before he met Dr. Dre, Sa-Roc is probably one of the dopest underground Emcees of our time.  Honestly I feel as though she has paid more dues than most main stream (Whack) new rappers out today.  If you heard her body of work you would be like "WTF, why haven't I heard of her before?".  Well that's because most people are still living in The Matrix (but that's another story). Checkout the video below, then go checkout the rest of her catalog.  Black Thought (of The Roots) consigned her recently and this dude rarely mention any Emcees.  "Don't believe me just listen..." download her mixtape "The Legend Of Black Moses" where the song "Between Friends" is from.

Kendrick Lamar - "Untitled (Unreleased Track Off "To Pimp A Butterfly)" - {Audio}

If you don't know, Kendrick Lamar's album "To Pimp A Butterfly" was supposed to be released today.  But he decided to drop it earlier last week probably because of too many unauthorized leaks were surfacing.  So we decided to shine some light on this track "Untitled" which didn't make the cut on his lastest album.  I don't know maybe they figure the album was already dope enough.  Needless to say Kendrick is like a Messiah in HipHop, shaking the game up bringing REal creative artistry and lyrics back to mainstream HipHop.  I'm no profit or anything but I knew back in 2011 this young kid was going to be the truth.  Because of Kendrick's success it helps to shine the light on other creative Emcees.  I can go on for days about Kendrick....then I might sound like Rosenberg from Hot 97...lol.

Damo - "Organized Confusion" - {Audio}

http://i.imgur.com/eGG5INi.jpg
I was looking for some old Organized Konfusion (Prince Po & Pharoahe Monch) when I ran into Damo's single called Organized Confusion featuring Stevie P & Twyce Nyce.  The internet is a powerful asset for Underground HipHop, turn off the radio and go find some REal music.

Trek Life - "Just The Music" (Prod.by Duke Westlake) - {Official Video}

 Cut to a laid back sunny southern California day.  Take a walk down the street to the record store. Kick a verse alongside arts district murals.  Give a pound to the homies.  Dig through some crates.  Feel the breeze. That's pretty much the recipe for Trek Life's opening visuals for the Duke Westlake produced lead single "Just The Music."  Nothing left to do but relax and enjoy the music. Jake Handegard of Morningside Films directed the video.

Hometown Foreigner represents the ideology of being in the middle of it all but still on the outside. As a man and an artist Trek's more recent experiences have been living slightly on the edge of things.  This new album, produced, mixed, and mastered by the incredibly talented Duke Westlake is an exploration of that sentiment.  From questioning what's really real, to driving while black, all the way to why chocolate might be the thing for your girl, Trek breaks down the world from his West Covina standpoint.   Featuring Oddisee, Bishop Lamont, yU, Hezekiah, and more, Trek rhymes alongside friends with a laid back maturity only found amongst the elite.

Mega Ran & Storyville - "Artillery" - {Official Video}

Mega Ran and Storyville return to their battle-rap roots (both are former Scribble Jam Battle finalists in 2008) in a trippy high-tech video that includes digital boxing gloves, retinal scans and even a DeLorean.
These visuals were directed by Luis Perez and Ben Levy, Ran and story drop punchline after impressive punchline on "Artillery," over a hypnotic horn-driven soulful loop accented by piano keys, produced by Small Pro.
Their album "Soul Veggies," which debuted last week at #47 on the Billboard Indie Charts, is available now on iTunes.  If you are a DJ, pre-order it on special purple vinyl (you know, like a beet) is a available option.

Cam'ron & A-Trak - "Dipsh*ts" - {Official Video}

A-Trak and Cam'ron are back at it again with "Dipsh*ts" featuring uncut Cam'ron slick talk over triumphant instrumental blasts  also produced by Just Blaze.  Reppin' Dipset,  Juelz Santana on the hook, Jim Jones with a cameo appearance  and "Champagne Dame" (aka Federal Reserve executive producer Damon Dash) providing a legendary song closing rant, you know how he do.  Just another dope joint from Cam, he releases dope singles and EP's then he dips out of the lime light like, "Keyser Söze" off the The Usual Suspects.  I'm still hoping for a Dipset reunion album...lets keep our fingers cross.

In a landscape overrun with over indulgence and shallow trend-chasers, the Prince George’s County, Maryland artist Oddisee creates "The Good Fight", a record that reminds you that it’s music before it’s HipHop.  This LP is set to be released May 5th on Mello Music Group.  Not many artist keep inventing themselves with each album they put out, this is what separates Oddisee from most Emcees.  Checkout the single below and pre-order you copy today.

UnsungHipHop Presents: "Stuck On The Steps" By Nina Couture

It goes without saying that poetry was the first form of HipHop, and no one does poetry quite like Nina Couture.  You can just feel the heartfelt words in "Stuck on the Steps", a story about a young girl plagued by unwanted advances while living in a abusive environment. Nina gives a full account of her struggles, broken relationships, and her rough upbringing.  This isn't your ordinary novel either, it's written in such a poetic style you will not want to stop reading..  "Don't believe me just read...

Lyfe Jennings - "Pretty Is" - {Official Video}

Yesterday Lyfe Jennings returned with his lead single, "Pretty Is" from his highly anticipated sixth studio album, Tree Of Lyfe. This song celebrates all women by empowering them with the notion true beauty is within.  Back in 2004, Lyfe captivated countless listeners worldwide with his seminal platinum-selling debut Lyfe 268-192. Since then, the singer and songwriter created four more critically acclaimed albums.  He's the only R&B singer who consistently sing about conscious issues he NEVER compromises his image or message to make a dollar.  Now that's a REal artist.

BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface Killah - "Ray Gun" (Ft. DOOM) - {Official Video}

This joint was taken from "Sour Soul", the new album by BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface Killah featuring MF DOOM.  I think Ghost & DOOM need to do a entire album together their different styles really compliment each other.  This is that REal HipHop here, they need to do a Red & Meth like collaboration.

KING (of 334 Mobb) “What's Going On” - {Live Freestyle Video}

http://i1.sndcdn.com/artworks-000039166465-zoynxx-original.jpg
 KING is from the brother duo 334 MO.B.B. , they were signed by Def Jam in 2006 by Antonio "LA" Reid & Jay-Z. He personifies the southern culture of the rap game, with an infectious voice and recognizable sound, King is a true industry vet with the hunger of a rookie and an undeniable rawness.  While the South has often been criticized for a lack of lyrical content, the Check On Me rhymer is masterfully incorporating catchy hooks and melodies, with thought-provoking punch-lines and wordplay. His music offers samples from everything that makes the south unique, with the diversity and multi-faceted nature that connects with all regions. King is what today's mainstream HipHop his missing and the embodiment of what the underground industry is built on.

Lauryn Hill - "Neurotic Society" - {Audio}

 New music from Lauryn Hill is like a Bigfoot siting, and even though a lot of people didn't get this song REal HipHop heads can appreciate the poetry of it. After a open letter regarding her very public legal battle and the recording agreement she has reached with Sony Worldwide Entertainment. Sista is goin’ in on this track lyrically as if she has a message to share but only have 4 mintues and 23 seconds to do it.  It's pretty dam dope...to me, tell me what do you y'all think.

Ugly Heroes (Apollo Brown, Verbal Kent & Red Pill) - "Graves" - {Audio}

 Apollo Brown is always on his grind, he teams up with Verbal Kent and Red Pill to form the super group Ugly Heroes.  Their track, "Graves", is a nasty blue collar joint that lyrically stares down the reality of living in a rigged system and having to grind day after day until you're six feet under. I really love the new Boom Bap HipHop of today,  thanks to producers like Apollo Brown.

FKA twigs - "Papi Pacify" - {Official Video}

I haven't seen a artist this unique in quite some time now, FKA Twigs is like Sade, Aaliyah, with a twist of Grace Jones.  Twigs style almost as twisted as Marilyn Manson but in a dope way. Her creative mind is oozing with fantacy and erotica type persona, her music leaves you at the end wondering..."What the f#@k just happen..." and you end up watching or listening again over and over again.  If you have never heard of FKA Twigs before don't worry neither did I.  I few days ago my friend Woo introduced me to her music which got me hooked and bought her entire catalog.  Just scrolled down and maybe you will have a similar experience.  "Don't believe me just watch.!!" - Trinidad James

The Black Opera - "Queen of Hearts" (Ft. Mayer Hawthorne) - {Official Video}

The Black Opera'video "Queen Of Hearts" is one of those joints that never got it's proper credit.   TBO and director Andy Madeleine tell the visual story of a K U E E N in search of fulfillment in life.  TBOGNokbai and Sensu provide a colorful backdrop to the video through their word play, and Mayer Hawthorne provides perfect pitch on the hook.  "Queen Of Hearts" has proven to be a stand-out track on "Libretto: Of King Legend", and has become a TBO instant classic.  In 2000 the jam was "Climax", and now the anthem is "Queen Of Hearts".

MESSAGE FROM THE BLACK OPERA:
“While in search of his Queen of Hearts, or some would say, KUEENZ of Heart, the King was not very trusting with any of his beautiful possibilities.  Once he learned how to trust himself, then and only then, was he able to trust and L O V E Without A Limit."

The iLL Individuals are Underground HipHop out of Raleigh, NC. They have been doing there thing for quite sometime now.  Sometimes he doesn't pay to be different which is very unfortunate, but these young guys are the truth.  If you want to get rid of the garbage on the radio you have to support Real talent like them.  They are like a southern version of Pro Era with Joey Bada$$.

Martin $ky - "critiCALI" - {Official Video}

Off his project Time(less), Martin $ky 's "critiCALI" is probably one of the dopest lyrically sound song made in the best few years. I'm hoping one of these days he gets the attention of some REal HipHop heads, I know they will appreciate what he brings to the game.
