Kendrick Lamar Responds To All The Backlash From His "Control" Verse - Audio

kendrick lamar
After firing the shot that was heard around the world aka the infamous “Control” verseKendrick Lamar has finally broken his silence on the impactful record.
In a preview of an interview that will be aired tomorrow on Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Lamar breaks down the controversial line that had East Coast rappers up in arms: “I’m the king of New York.” “The irony of that line is, for the people who actually understood it and got it, was the actual kings of NY, who’s been down with me the past week, and them understanding it’s not about being the king of whatever coast,” said the West Coast spitter. “It’s about leaving my mark as great as Biggie, as great as ‘Pac.”
The full interview will be released tomorrow morning on Power 106′s Big Boy’s Neighborhood. There will also be another interview with Kendrick Lamar hitting the New York airwaves tomorrow morning on Hot 97.

Uncle Murda - "The Response" (Kendrick Lamar Diss) - Audio Download

Everyone from Joe Budden to Papoose and Cassidy have all fired shots at Kendrick Lamar over his earth shattering guest verse on Big Sean‘s “Control (HOF)” track (guessing everyone has all but forgotten Jay Electronica’s bars). Now, HipHop can add Uncle Murda to the list of uninspired retort with “The Response.”
For the duration of the 2:27 minute track,  the Brooklynite also finds time to send disses toward Dr. Dre and Fabolous. Then again, this is the same Emcee who lent a guest verse to Ray J’s “Hit it First” remix.  Hey I man's got to eat.

Rich Quick - "Travelin' Man" (Ft. Rakka Iriscience & Reef The Lost Cauze) - Audio Download

Born and raised in Woodbury New Jersey, in his high school years, Rich Quick  was the co-founder of a hip-hop group appropriately named “Rag Tag” because of their diverse and disorderly composition.
In April 2012 Rich released, I'm With The DJ, and while touring for the project and after a show, Rich was approached by Jeff Davis aka Stress the White Boy. Stress and Chuck Treece, a powerhouse production duo referred to as STREECE (who have previously produced for Lil Wayne, The Roots, Gym Class Heroes, Travie McCoy, Tyga, Good Charlotte, Sting & Billy Joel among many others) and after hitting it off they began working with Rich on material that would eventually turn into his forthcoming Sad Songz EP which will be released on 8-20-2013.
The work on Sad Songz captured the attention of multi-Grammy award winning artist, Tim "Timebomb" Armstrong of Rancid & Transplants fame. Armstrong, a longtime friend of Stress, collaborated on a track with STREECE and Rich. The track entitled "Stay True" became part of the Tim Timebomb and Friends project and quickly became a fan favorite.

The diversity and authenticity of Rich Quick's Sad Songz EP has already caught the attention of Allhiphop.com, UnsungHipHop.Com, Magnet Magazine, MSN.com, Urb.com, Respect-mag.com, Hiphopdx.com & Philadelphia Weekly and with his release date right around the corner, today he releases a bonus cut, "Travelin' Man,” from his forthcoming EP featuring 1/2 of Dilated Peoples & Reef The Lost Cauze and remixed by STREEZE.  Other notable collaborators on Sad Songz include Jakk Frost & Vinnie Paz.

Ro James - "Lisa" (Ft. Asher Roth) - Audio Download

ro-james-lisa
New York based R&B talent Ro James teams up with “I Love College” rapper Asher Roth for his latest track, “Lisa,” produced by Blended Babies.
Taken from his new EP, Jack, the second of a three-part series titled Coke, Jack And Cadillacs, you can tell from the artwork alone – showing a suggestively posed Lisa Bonet – that the track is a sensual affair. Coupling a lo-fi drum beat and minimal bassline with some slow jamming keys and synth work, James flows smoothly over the slow-moving track, laying down falsetto refrains that create subtle yet infectious inflections.
Roth adds to James’ work by laying down a somewhat uncharacteristically seductive verse which sits perfectly on the glacial arrangement. Alongside explicit lyrics, “Lisa” also features some well-placed D’Angelo-style backing vocals and harmonies which combine to create a juiced up Prince sound. Take a listen below.
