After firing the shot that was heard around the world aka the infamous “Control” verse, Kendrick Lamar has finally broken his silence on the impactful record.
In a preview of an interview that will be aired tomorrow on Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Lamar breaks down the controversial line that had East Coast rappers up in arms: “I’m the king of New York.” “The irony of that line is, for the people who actually understood it and got it, was the actual kings of NY, who’s been down with me the past week, and them understanding it’s not about being the king of whatever coast,” said the West Coast spitter. “It’s about leaving my mark as great as Biggie, as great as ‘Pac.”
The full interview will be released tomorrow morning on Power 106′s Big Boy’s Neighborhood. There will also be another interview with Kendrick Lamar hitting the New York airwaves tomorrow morning on Hot 97.
