Friday

Ka - "You Know It's About" - {Official Video}

One of my favorite underground Emcee’s Ka, with his rasby voice and hardcore lyrics he keeps you involved. This joint is off the “The Night’’s Gambit”LP here one of his dopest projects to date.  Checkout his delivery below, I'm sure it's unlike anything else you've ever heard.

Thursday

YC The Cynic - "God Complex" - {Official Video}

The Bronx is known for originating this thing that we call HipHop. It's only right for a kid from hip-hop's birthplace to introduce a unique flavor to the game.

YC The Cynic is a rapper who has cut his teeth in New York City's open mic scene for years. Cultivating a small but fiercely loyal fan base, YC was able to raise over $5000 for a Kickstarter campaign to fund his upcoming album with producer Frank DrakeGNK

Tuesday

Mélan - "thrifty(so)ul" EP - {Video Snips}

Today we bring you Bronx native Emcee Mélan, who sounds like she could be related to Yassin Bey (Mos Def).  Her versatility on the mic seems unlimited, this kind of talent you can't teach.  With her latest project she takes us back when HipHop was based on lyrics and forward moving consciousness.  Make sure you check her out, I'm sure she will S#@! on your favorite female rapper, hell probably most males to.

Friday

Isaiah Rashad - "I Shot You Down" - {Official Video}

If you ask me TDE is the new Def Jam, their roster is so deep it's ridiculous.  They appear to have all genres of HipHop covered under one umbrella.  Now when was the last time that happened?

Thursday

De La Soul - "Memory of… (US)" (Ft. Estelle, Pete Rock) - {Video}

De La Soul release another dope track for their 2016 album "and the Anonymous Nobody" featuring UK songstress Estelle along with legendary DJ Pete Rock.  For over 20 years they have stayed together (with no break-ups) releasing album after album.  No other HipHop group can compare to them to their stamina and consistency.

Monday

Blossom - "Black Magic Woman" - {Official Video}

Portland songstress Blossom brings all the vibes in her latest, self-directed, music video for "Black Magic Woman," produced by Mikey Fountaine.  It's great to see REal soul music is making a comeback.  There is nothing like an artist willing to lay it all out on the line in order to spread their message. Blossom is the perfect representation of what it means to be original.

Sunday

Common - "Black America Again" (Ft. Stevie Wonder) - {Video}

Common has always been one of my top 10 Emcees of all time.  This Chicago native for the most part has always kept it street and conscious.  No matter how much mainstream success he has gotten in the last few years he has remained grounded and being the voice of the people.  Common's latest single is another masterpiece to added to his arsenal of dope rhymes.

Saturday

Oddisee - "The IceBerg" LP - {Audio}

Oddisee has been one of the main reason underground HipHop artist are inspired to stay independent.  Without any major label deals he's managed to tour the globe and not have to sell his soul for cash.  When you pre-order "The Iceberg", you will get 1 track now (streaming via the free Bandcamp app and also available as a high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more), plus the complete album the moment it's released.  Let's keep our favorite artist from working at Walmart, go support REal HipHop.

Friday

Talib Kweli Have Some Words For Kanye West - {Video}

We keep in purely HipHop  here for the most part, but there are times when you must speak out against the tyranny.  I agree with Jazy-Z, I miss the "Old" Kanye.  It's obviously Kanye has something personal going on in his life and I hope it gets it resolved soon.  Talib Kweli breaks down the dangers of Kanye giving Donald Trump any recognition.

Thursday

Raekwon - “Don’t Look Any Further” (FREESTYLE) - {Audio}

 The last time I heard Raekwon he was killing it on Pusha T‘s “Tick Tock” from The Man With The Iron Fists soundtrack, a project which left mouths watering for some kind of Wu-Tang reunion. Whilst that prospect remains up in the air, The Chef himself is preparing for the release of a solo EP this year.
For now though, here’s a three and a half minute freestyle he dropped over Dennis Edwards‘ Motown classic “Don’t Look Any Further,” which recalls the glory days of East Coast rap whilst clenching lyrical fists at the new generation of skinny-jeaned rappers.

Wednesday

Ivan Ives - "Higher" (Ft. Aaron Marsh) - {Official Video}

Russian born/bred L.A. resident Ivan Ives presents the self-directed music video for "Higher", the Aaron Marsh-produced new single from his new album Stranger. Ivan Ives originally stepped into the hip hop world in 2007. Rolling Stone named him among the next 40 artists to watch; SPIN called him one of 8 top unsigned artists; and XXL said "don't let his indie rocker persona fool you - this guy can spit."
He's worked with the likes of Cappadonna (Wu-Tang), Tre Hardson (Pharcyde), Percee P & Oh No (Stones Throw), The Cool Kids, Black Milk, O.C. (DITC), Vast Aire (Def Jux), Ceschi (Fake Four Inc), and many more. Having gone to film school, he directs most of his own videos which have racked up over a million streams on YouTube without major distribution. "Aaron and I wrote the song at his studio in Lakeland, Florida," says Ivan. "It's a pretty weird song with alternating off-kilter time signatures, so it was really fun to work on. I wanted the video to reflect the uniqueness of the song, and so we tell a disjointed story about an astronaut lost in space or his own mind." Click here to view the music video for "8mm" produced by RJD2.

Tuesday

Emɐnuǝl X - "Streams" - {Official Video}

Emɐnuǝl X took a very unique approach when writing his song "Streams".  It tells that tale of two different stories based on where you choose to start playing it from. On one end he tries to be a good man to her, and vice versa, but they both know their relationship is weak because it was founded off of lust and no true substance. It's a rare thing to see a rapper right something REal these days, check him out below.

Monday

NATIV3 SOUNDS - "N*ggaz B" - {Official Video}

Coming out of  Augusta, Georgia we bring y'all NATIV3 SOUNDS dropping their debut EP "GREAT VALUE."  DJ Forte pays homage to a Spike Lee Joint with this Mo'Betta Blues inspired beat track. The two Masters of Ceremonies Qualo Smoke & C.Wills hits us with some razor sharp lyrics in joint right reminding me of the Boom Bap era.

Saturday

Uncle Murda - "Cam'ron Voice" - {Official Video}

I know my fellow conscious community would call this "Murder Music", but I happen to love it. All music isn't meant for everyone I grew up on all forms of rap, Gangsta Rap was one and it didn't make me want to become a criminal.  Now back to Uncle Murda, he's one the dopest Hardcore Emcees out now.  With a sea full of feminine cross dressing rappers in the game, it's always good to see some REal Emceein'

Friday

Martial WAL Presents: Hop Cashay - "Redemption" - (Official Video)

You know here @ UnsungHipHop we highly support the conscious rappers.  But I can never deny those REal Emcees who spit that street s#%!. I mean those Beanie Sigel/Jadakiss type, Hop Cashay is just that kind of rapper.  We support all genre's of HipHop just as long as it's not whack.

Thursday

Monday

Airøspace - "Analogues" [Tape: Side A] - {Audio}

This artist name Airøspace was recently brought to my attention and I must say his style is like chaotic genius on wax.  He takes us on a dark journey within his own heartache, pain, and anger.
Dope a$$ f$#k!, which pretty much sums up this EP, to me he's like Marshall Mathers mixed with Tech N9ne.  The production on this track is top notch to there is nothing like this on mainstream radio.  Make sure ya'll check him out.

Sunday

J Cole - "False Prophets [Be Like This]" - {Official Video}

What can I say about J Cole that you don't know already?  Well I've watched him grow from a normal rapper touring with Black Star and De La Soul.  To a conscious Lyricist trying to change the world with his music.

J Cole has been groomed by the best in the game from Mos Def (Yassin Bey), Talib Kweli, Nas, and even Jay-Z just to name a few.  He has personally experienced HipHop's underground and mainstream audiences building up his fan base the old fashion way.  In my opinion he is one of the few most rounded Emcees in the game.

Saturday

Little Simz - "Guess Who" (Ft. Josh Arcé, Chuck20 & Tilla) - {Video}

Little Simz one shot video for "Guess Who", featuring her SPACE AGE family Josh Arcé, Chuck 20 and Tilla Arcé, taken from her forth EP AGE 101: DROP 4. This is the second in a series of SHOT 101 visuals, they are not considered videos more like moments in time captured in one take. Similar to what Erykah Badu's "Window Seat" video.

Friday

Isaiah Rashad - "4r Da Squaw" - {Official Video}

Coming out of the T.D.E. squad Isaiah Rashad has been playing his dues for quite some time now.  I've been waiting on this solo project for a minute now.  Kendrick and the game surely have great team around their artist.  Everyone they sign appear to be on that conscious tip which is a dope attribute to have, they have the infrastructure to last the test of time.

Thursday

Nomadic Massive - "Any Sound" - {Official Video}

Nomadic Massive is probably the most talented group of it's size since the Wu-Tang Clan.  Anyone of these artist could easily record a solo project.  You don't see groups this large anymore, in the US groups are not promoted it's all about the solo artist.  Nothing wrong with doing your own thing, but as a group we are stronger and more people can eat and have opportunities.  Remember "It takes a villiage..." you know the rest.
