undefined
 Elaine "Lil'Bit" Shepherd is a Canadian artist/musician who has definitely been doing her thing since high school.  Lil’Bit received The Most Promising New Artist Award at the RMAA’s. This award is just a milestone in itself ultimately foreshadowed her acceptance of the most prestigious award in the Canadian Music Industry: In 2011, Lil’ Bit received a Juno for Reggae Recording of the Year. She also received two awards at the 2011 WCRMA’s for Best Female Vocalist, and Single of The Year, and was nominated for Best Female Vocalist, Best Reggae Single, and Artist of the Year at the 2011 RMAA’s. She has the kind of voice that could captivate any audience.  Watch her live performance below you will see what I mean.

Here is a little bonus video featuring Elaine "Lil Bit" Shepherd by these Bestie Boys style Canadian rap group Called Rushden & Diamonds.  For some reason I really like this song even though it's a bit corny.  Its a cool fun loving groovy song with a catchy hook. Check it out below you will see what I'm saying.

Tuesday

Derrick Duncan - "As The World Turns" (Part 1) - {Audio}

Georgia native Derrick Duncan delivers a very smoothed out Boom Bap track called "As the World Turns Part 1".   This jazz influenced LP will take you back during a time when HipHop was truly an artform. From the sound of this first CD I can't wait until he drops Part 2, until then enjoy.

Monday

Out Da Box Media Chops It Up With Willie Evans Jr. - {Video}

UnsungHipHop is proud to bring you a classic interview done by Out Da Box Media along with an exclusive bonus track from High Water Music artist Willie Evans Jr.  Playing off of the theme of his debut album "Introducin".

He took the time to speak to us about his musical journey, coming from Jacksonville, Florida with his former crew Asamov,  and joining up with Sucio at High Water Music. He also spoke on his "Billy Lotion" instrumental project inspired by Aloe Blacc and his passion for choppin' music video.

Chances are you may have already heard of Willie but didn't yet get to hear his story and what he brings to the table. This brotha has some interesting things to offer as far as his creativity. Definitely, not your typical Emcee/Producer.  Probably one of the best to do both worlds next to Kanye West but not as famous, REal talk.

Sunday

Aloe Black - "The Man" - {Official Video}

Aloe Blacc is one of the few black R&B singers on the mainstream circuit.  After listening to his voice it's very apparent why he is supported worldwide.  If you haven't heard of him before please go out and support this brotha he is surely the truth.  No autotune or any voice assistance used which is rare for singers of today.

Friday

Mickey Factz - "$4.14" - {Official Video}

Mickey Factz is probably one of the most famous Emcees you've NEVER heard about.  Mickey is the perfect example what most artist go through, which is a plethora of bad decisions and setbacks.  You can't just make it in this business with talent alone, you need as strong team behind you.  Sometimes you have to go through a slew of people before finding the right ones.  Most people would have given up, but that's what separate the Lions from the Sheep.

Wednesday

Viva Fidel - "Local Vacation" - {Video}

The "Local Vacation" visual is saturated with historical Milwaukee imagery from the times of 1968. You will see the Commandos and Father James Groppi , up to the 1980's footage of citizens protesting after the police murder of Ernest Lacy, all contrasted with the paralleling clips of current day street rallies and outcries after the police murder of Dontre Hamilton
"When I was young I remember hearing the sad story about Ernest Lacy , I remember my parents being involved in that fight for justice, now here we are 35 years later and that fight for justice still continues. Unarmed Black men being targeted and killed by rouge police in Milwaukee is a real problem and it's not new, just like in America. This flashback into history is the 'local vacation' , it's happening all over the country. Some of us really need to do some research and learn what happened yesterday, so we can survive today and prepare for tomorrow. Hopefully it helps us think about the future we are creating " - VivaFidel

Monday

Killa Kyleon - "Killa" - {Video}

Yet another drop from Killa Kyleon as he links up with his go-to video director David Stunts to give another #30Days30Deaths freestyle a professional movie appeal. If you want some real Hardcore HipHop music  with dope lyrics then Killa is your guy.  Since 50 Cent mainstream presence there hasn't been any Emcees who represent that real street HipHop who spit REal Bars.  Looks like Killa is on his way to fill that mainstream slot.

Saturday

Says Who? - "Directions" EP - {Audio}

Being a former Beatsmith myself I always love a great HipHop instrumental.  I know only my REal lyricist and producers can feel me on this one.

"Directions" is the MJM debut EP which showcases producer Says Who? and his well crafted instrumental productions that fuses blends of Funk, Soul, Jazz, HipHop and more. Whether it's to chill out or something to nod your head to, this EP has a little something for all people who can appreciate this genre of music.

Friday

2032 - "Things To Come" EP - {Audio}

Every so often you get group with a allstar full of lyricist, 2032 just happens to be one of those groups.  We are living in a era where the mainstream HipHop is based on materialistic rhymes over misogynistic beats.  Now this is not your Grandma's HipHop either hardcore for the REal HipHop Heads.  Start supporting REal HipHop and get that garbage off the airwaves.

Tuesday

Born Allah - "Who Are Allah's Five Percent?" - {Official Video}

Popular L.A. underground Emcee Born Allah returns back to form with his new single, "Hardcore Righteousness(Who is Allah's Five Percent?)". Dedicated to Father Allah & his Five Percent Nation.

Born Allah goes hard on this V-Kush produced beat. This new single is a throwback, reminiscent of the golden era of HipHop when the hardcore righteous bars of Brand Nubian, Poor Righteous Teachers & Rakim was the norm.

The song is accompanied by a powerful video from the  RCKLSS ABNDN production team and features classic pictures and footage of Allah, the founder of the 5% Nation and his early followers.

In the song Born Allah gives his harsh opinion of Jay-Z wearing the Universal Flag  (recognized worldwide as a symbol of the 5% Nation) and the infamous moment when he passed the chain on to Jay Electronica at the Brooklyn HipHop festival in 2014.

Monday

A.R.K. - "Not Cool" - {Official Video}

DMV HipHop trio The Package is now known as  A.R.K. (Anthony, Richard, and Keeyon, the birth names of group members: Dimensions [on rhymes], Theory [on beats] and Noyeek [on rhymes]). After garnering thousands of views with (Hot 97's own) Peter Rosenberg-directed video for "Making Waves" (the lead single from their last album "New Golden Era"), followed by Theory successfully placing beats on projects for Emcees such as Dungeon Family's own Backbone (ATL), the A.R.K. has returned with their sophomore album "Trials, Tribulations, and Triumph".

Besides the eleven A.R.K.-only records representing the bulk of the project, the album features three collaborative cuts: "Frontlines" featuring Rhymesayers affiliate Quadir Lateef, Beat Konductaz' own L-Betta, and Dimensions' teenaged son Infinite, in addition to two posse cuts with The A.R.K.'s old crew, veteran DC HipHop collective Infinite Loop [the aforementioned "Don't Start" and "Fall Back"].

Saturday

Link Up TV Presents: Caine Marko's "#StreetHeat (Freestyle)" - {Video}

Link Up TV have released Caine Marko's #StreetHeat freestyle, where the UK Emcee is killin' bars over Mobb Deep's 'Shook Ones (Part II)'.  I must admit the UK HipHop community are currently living their Golden Era.  Where the focus is on lyrics Not bling or material objects.

Thursday

Killa Kyleon - "Breathe Easy" - {Video}

Displaying 2-2.jpg
Killa Kyleon and video director David Stunts keep it gritty as they take on "Breathe Easy" from Jay-Z's The Blueprint album.  "Breathe Easy" appears on Killa Kyleon's summer freestyle compilation, #30Days30Deaths.  Their aren't too many street dudes I F**k with but Killa is on that very short list of hardcore Emcees that actually have dope lyrics.

Tuesday

Fab Soares - "Live From The Underground" - {Video}

Displaying Fab Soares - One and Only.jpg
Fab Soares is one of the dopest UK Emcee I've heard in awhile.  He as performed at a few significant places and also released his first project this year entitled "Nothing but Rhymes".  His second project "Live From The Underground" should be out this winter.

Monday

Jazz Jousters - "Locations: Poland" EP - {Audio}

Displaying MJM - Locations - Poland - Cover.jpg
The Jazz Jousters has slowly come to the end of their Locations Series with "Locations: Poland" EP being the final installment.  What makes this so special is that it will be available on cassette and digital download.  Now how often do you see that?  Being a ex beatmaker myself I can appreciate the time it takes to master the artistry of mixing sounds together which weren't originally designed coexist.   This is  a dope EP of instrumentals only REal artist would appreciate.

Saturday

Erykah Badu - "Hotline Bling" (Remix) - {Audio}

When Erykah Badu decides she wants to take one of your tracks and add her own spin to, believe me that's a great thing.  Lately Miss Badu has been a bit reclose raising her children.  But I'm sure she has a plethora unreleased songs in her vault.  She is America's version of Sade no matter how long she stays away she always comes back with fire.
